Periods may be coming to a full stop.
While older texters may consider the period an innocent symbol that a sentence has ended, digital natives consider it a triggering form of aggression. The punctuation problem ignited over social media recently, with Gen Z and millennials agreeing that ending a sentence with a period is overly hostile and, worse yet, extremely uncool.

My gosh. As a stand alone article, this is mundane; however, if this is any indication of the present yoots of America we are in serious trouble. Bad enough some recent college grads have the same vocabulary skills as 14-year-olds. Now this!

The young-uns might also soon be asking to get rid of sentences period (or end of sentence)
After all, all they need abbreviations period period period
LOL OMG STFU K ICYMI ETC
(NOtice I didn’t use periods-didn’t want to offend anyone)
Commas might be next and all punctuation marks and no sentence structures and no paragraphs and no spaces (all one contiguous set of letters requiring one to search for the words and sentences and paragraphs )
Written communications is too hard for the puny brains of today s kids to learn and use

triggering form of aggressionPersonally, I would call a period a micro aggression. Now, that pesky exclaimation point, that's an aggression.
I encourage everyone to abuse any twit that believes this twatter.

Perhaps stop signs can be replaced with kinder, gentler yield and merge signs. Opps, bad idea, sounds like something W would say.

millennials agreeing that ending a sentence with a period is overly hostile and, worse yet, extremely uncoolI am old and "uncool." I agree to not end my sentences with a period. In the future I shall end my sentences with a symbol of an AR-15 or if I am in a bad mood a 700 Remington Win Mag but if really pissed off a 338 Lapua. I like punctuation marks.
