Ultimately the taxpayers pay. And after the riot there are fewer taxpayers.

I would look into suing the city for looking the other way and/or hampering law enforcement.

Few Americans realize it, but many states had laws against “reverse condemnation” under eminent domain laws. Basically, cities and towns that allowed rioters to destroy property were responsible to compensate private owners for their losses, under the idea that government allowed property to be taken (condemned) due to the actions and inaction of government.

Those laws finally disappeared in the 1960s when Democrats took over most cities.

My insurance doesn’t cover acts of terrorism. If the insurance companies can define these acts this way then the rioters should be treated as terrorists.

Biden/DNC should pay - the riots are their campaign, after all.

The author doesn’t have 1% of the smarts of your average FReeper...

“...the first step would be to contact law enforcement...If the state opts to press charges against that individual...”

Ha, ha, ha....maybe he is a comedian.

Insurance ain’t gonna pay. Standard war, civil insurrection, riot clause. Unless you had a rider. You are going to pay Mr Small Business Owner.

For some strange reason BLM had a protest in my little Central Texas Town of Salado. Directly across the street from my shop. The protest was about a statue in town. It was Colonel Robertson. BLM was angry that a statue of a soldier in confederate guard uniform was there. His uniform was of the Texas Guard and not the confederacy. He did serve in the confederacy later. In the garb of the Texas Guard it was to honor Colonel Robertson and Texas, not the confederacy.

Three or Four BLMs walked around with AR-15s which is their perfect right in Texas and I support this. There was city police, county police, and state police in abundance. Many shop owners just sat on chairs in front of their shops as I did in front of my shop.

We were all discreetly armed. I sat with my friend and two AR-15s plus pistols. We did not brandish weapons nor march around like those BLM and Antifa cowards do. They are tough guys against an unarmed person. A couple of gentlemen parked their golf cart on my driveway. I went up to them and asked why are you here? One said to "maintain order." I said, "but you are not armed." He pointed to a blanket in the back and said, "we are." I smiled and said, "you are welcome on my property."

Originally BLM had planned to walk down main street (that is when burning and looting happens) to the statue. They changed their minds.

That violence will not occur in a conservative and well armed community of law abiding citizens.

The rioters need to be forced into indentured servitude.

Does insurance cover riots and looting?

The answer: Yes, standard insurance policies usually cover damage that results from rioting, looting, vandalism, and/or civil commotion. This would include damage caused by rioters as well as damage caused by the reactions of police and civil authorities during a riot. Some companies will even offer glass replacement without a deductable.

Interesting thing is that most companies do not cover auto damage but will cover structural and theft. I guess they expect you to get in the car and run away. I would. I am not going to stay and get my back side shot off. But I will save the thing I can’t replace by insurance. I lose nothing that way if I don’t have to get into it.

Who should pay? The damn corporations that gave BLM the 10s of millions of dollars in donations, that’s who. The small businesses should sue BLM!

The corporations that donated the tens of millions of dollars to BLM should pay. Small businesses should sue BLM and the companies supporting BLM.

Bingo. Most of these naive commentators have never read an insurance policy.

Let the same people pay for the damage that paid for the calamity of the civil war: the ones who started it.

I lived in So Calif during the Watts Riots & the King riots.

I have done accounting/bookkeeping ALL of my adult life.

I NEVER heard of a single insurance company paying for damages due to RIOTING ARSON INSURRECTION or any such behavior.

Buildings in Watts—which was burned down in 1965-—still are NOT rebuilt. NO insurance company will even insure the construction process.

The mantra that insurance will cover these damages is wrong.

I am assuming that you will be lucky to NOT have been burned down.

And YES-—EVERYONE’S insurance is going to increase.

The insurance issue is another reason WHY the Koreans were on the roofs of their buildings, prepared to shoot invaders.

IF you didn’t see those pics or don’t remember, they were heroes of the first magnitude.
