I am extremely concerned for Texas after my recent experience trying to get my Drivers License in TX so that I can vote here after moving from TN.
I had to wait until the DMV reopened after COVID-19 to get my license. When I went, I had to have copies of all marriage licenses and divorce decrees to show name changes even though I had shown these before in this state previously as they happened. I had lost these items in a fire, but jumped through all the hoops to get the copies, including paying $20 to the State of Texas for a Verification Letter. Marriages are not recorded with the state. They are recorded with the counties I soon discovered. I thought that $20 was wasted.
I soon received a FedEx copy of my Verification Letter that had all the info they requested. My birthdate, marriage date, names of my husband and myself, and also my maiden name. I was rather shocked to receive this as my marriage license does not have my maiden name on it as I was previously married. Since I had received a copy of that marriage license, I double-checked. Nope. Nothing about my maiden name on it.
Two days later I received PRE-FILLED-OUT Voter registration cards from the Texas Democratic Committee aka Texas Democrats. They had all the information given to the the Bureau of Vital Statistics. Why were they given access or why was my personal info given to them?
Today I returned to the DMV to get my Drivers License with my paperwork in hand. I had to have an appointment and all appointments are booked for 6 months in advanced and those 6 months are full. I could not even make an appointment all due to COVID-19. I asked the DMV people how I was supposed to vote as an ID is required. Do I have to return to TN to vote this year?
The response I received was stunning. Due to Covid, the polls will be allowing and accepting all voters this year due to Covid and the problems it has caused. Just show up and your vote will count.
So I guess that means that anyone will be allowed to vote, give any name, and vote as many times as they wish? I pray my DMV is misinformed and just told me this to get me out of their door.
I am sickened and stunned by this. I have written Gov Abbott and would like to know who else I need to notify. Also, if anyone knows of the truth to this situation, I would dearly love to hear it.
At this point, God's office is becoming our best hope if the Gov's office is pushing this treason.
Damn. Yeah - Just like they planned it.
I intend to vote, Should I vote at the earliest possible or wait until Election Day? Since the Demwits have both my husband and my information, Im worried that they may vote for me. ;). How is the best way to ensure that I get to vote for myself and it actually counts?
Sorry for the typo. ;)
I received the following from the SOS:
It is not necessary to obtain a Texas drivers license before registering to vote. To be eligible to vote in Texas a voter must complete a voter registration application and submit it to the voter registrar in their county of residence. The application may be completed using the last four digits of a social security number instead of a Texas drivers license number. Anyone may complete the informal online application here on our website, then print it out and submit it via mail or hand-delivery to the county voter registrar: https://webservices.sos.state.tx.us/vrapp/index.asp
However, note that when appearing to vote in-person, it is necessary to present a valid form of photo ID. There are seven types of valid photo ID, including a Texas drivers license, a US passport, and certain other types of identification. If one does not have access to any of those valid forms of ID and cannot reasonably obtain one, they may still vote a regular ballot if they provide a supporting form of ID that includes their name and address and complete a Reasonable Impediment Declaration at the polling place. We explain the voter ID requirements in more detail and explain exactly which types of ID are sufficient here on our website: https://www.votetexas.gov/register-to-vote/need-id.html
There have not been any changes to the ID requirements for the November election, however it is possible to present ID other than a Texas driver’s license, as discussed above.
Please let us know if you have any other questions about this issue or anything else relating to the election. You can reach us at Elections@sos.texas.gov or 1-800-252-8683, or you can visit our website at votetexas.gov.

No problemo...and your original “typo” actually is more accurate - God’s office is truly our best hope.
What the heck happened to Abbott?
I do not know. I asked him that very question a while ago, but he did not respond.
So I went to the website suggested in the email the SoS sent me and it appears one can vote if one fills out a form and shows a utility bill with ones name and address on it? So does that mean anyone living in the state can vote without showing proof of citizenship?
Im going to register and show up, but I do not have any of the IDs they consider to be valid. It doesnt look good to me that we will be counted. I almost hope they dont count our votes since lots of illegals have utility bills. ;)
Well, the prior communist traitor did predict the demise of Texas.
Not exact, but the gist is the same.
Bammy said, “Texas, you think you are a strong Republican state. Soon, it will be a swing state.”
Things have been the works for years.
It does appear that way. From the numbers of lunatics that have moved into my area just recently, they seem to be determined to change as much as they can without having to live within the cities that Obama, they, and those like them have destroyed.
After rereading ALL of the website again, I do indeed have a valid ID. I have an old TX Drivers License that expired a few years ago. The cutoff is now 4 years for expiration for voting purposes.
I feel somewhat better about the situation, although it doesnt appear to be too hard to vote without ID. With that said, it is still at least required to have something and theyre not just going to let anyone vote as the DMV stated. I guess they are probably tired of hearing Texans voice their frustrations at the current situation and any fib will do to get them out of the building. I do hope the Gov and/or SoS notifies the DMV to stop spreading THAT particular lie. ;)
True. Even in my area of Anderson county, we are witnessing liberals move in from california. To escape the crap they voted for!
Go vote in person on first day Oct 13-There is a pretty good system here in Harris County. Don’t worry. The Dems are spending on mail-outs once you vote no one can vote under your identity.
Thank you manga carta. My gut instinct said I should vote the earliest I possibly could, but we were worried we might be overlooking some loophole the Rats had found. ;). We will be there when the doors open Oct 13 with bells on to vote for our dear President Trump.
We decided to use those DemonRat voter registration cards as they were postage paid. Its not much, but we decided to let them pay the postage since they wanted us to get registered to vote so badly.
To anyone that needs this info: Ther person that sent me my verification letter without my previous marriage that jumped straight from my maiden name to my current marriage name was
Elizabeth Gonzales
Texas Online Team Lead
Vital Statistics Section
Email: EGONZALES2@DSHS.TEXAS.GOV
I dont know it for a fact, but Im guessing shes a Dem since my info was given to the Texas Democrats unless our dear state allows such access to anyone. They have to know it is next to impossible to get a valid TX ID right now. There may be lots of ripe voter info out there ripe for the stealing; since a utility bill is all that is necessary to cast a vote.. ;)
You are so right about needing Gods help. I have yet to hear back from Gov Abbotts office after voicing my concerns to them.
