So I went to the website suggested in the email the SoS sent me and it appears one can vote if one fills out a form and shows a utility bill with ones name and address on it? So does that mean anyone living in the state can vote without showing proof of citizenship?
Im going to register and show up, but I do not have any of the IDs they consider to be valid. It doesnt look good to me that we will be counted. I almost hope they dont count our votes since lots of illegals have utility bills. ;)
After rereading ALL of the website again, I do indeed have a valid ID. I have an old TX Drivers License that expired a few years ago. The cutoff is now 4 years for expiration for voting purposes.
I feel somewhat better about the situation, although it doesnt appear to be too hard to vote without ID. With that said, it is still at least required to have something and theyre not just going to let anyone vote as the DMV stated. I guess they are probably tired of hearing Texans voice their frustrations at the current situation and any fib will do to get them out of the building. I do hope the Gov and/or SoS notifies the DMV to stop spreading THAT particular lie. ;)
