The problem is around 50 years old, when the teachers were first unionized.
Honestly, I’m not sure if hiring a college grad or someone with a 5th grade education is that much different anymore.
I can’t believe how illiterate and without knowledge many college grads I know are.
Keep children away from public school teachers!
Parents are responsible for the edumacation of their kids.
Period. Full Stop.
Given a second chance, I’d rather go to Gitmo than let my kid go to public school.
put cameras in the classroom
My parents were in school 50-60 years ago. Dad says they were encouraged to donate to the March of Dimes, and to buy bonds. They were urged to support the Peace Corps, and the state of Israel was much admired by liberal teachers. Mom had a teacher who had marched for women’s suffrage and never let anyone forget it.
Fortunately I was homeschooled. :)
As someone who gave up a lot, and was richly rewarded, Ill say that parents GAVE AWAY control of education.
Most of us could have sacrificed to home or private school. All of us could have at least untaught some of the worst that public school teaches. None of us had to send our kids to bad universities to major in foolish things.
The good news is we can take it back and the lockdowns May be accelerating this movement.
“Parents have lost control of their children’s education”
No Shiite. Anyone with HALF A BRAIN knew this at least 50 years ago.
Here in TN, the Rutherford County schools told parents they had to sign a contract promising that they would not listen in to their kids’ online classes in their own homes. The contract also said they couldn’t record the classes, so if the kids wanted to review anything, they couldn’t.
There was an uproar, and I don’t know the status now. This was last week.
Sadly, I believe that many parents would rather not know, because once they know, it's very hard to find a good excuse to do nothing about it.
Patient marxists who knows how to play the long game...
Though not every aspect of it all can be laid at John Dewey’s feet as a matter of what he and other “reformers” intended they were the ones that laid the foundations of modern maleducation.
Next he'll tell us someone shot Abe Lincoln...
Bump
Most of them lost that fifty years ago, and the only ones who have any control are those who either home school, or can afford a private school that they can be sure shares their values.
Heck most of the current generatiuon of parents don’t even know how badly their children are being propagandized, because they were propagandized too.
As long as we have rifles, we retain the ability to regain control.
It’s the Washington Times .... not the What’s Really Happening Across America Times.
Technically, I have every right to go in and audit my kid’s class if he’s at the physical school. Obviously, I don’t have fewer rights when they’re borrowing my living room to use as their school.
