The NBA Playoffs began on Monday with four first-round games spanning from mid-morning to late night.
Overall, the opening day of the pro basketball postseason averaged 1.71 million viewers for ESPN. That number was 39 percent lower than the 2.82 million average from last year.

the NBA can e.s.a.d.
besides the woke bullshit... the quality of the basketball itself is very poor, poor shooting and no defense - a lot of the players don’t want to be there.

F/NBANFLMLBNASCARETC...
What’s an NBA?
How long before we’re racists for not watching it...
A lot of that is no doubt due to the time of year, sterile atmosphere, and weird game times.
But yes, I’m sure the wokeness had a major impact.
I’m already racist, so I don’t care.
Or, as we former fans refer to it here in our neck of the woods: NOOSECAR
Nightly Burning Antifa?
I didn’t know there was a contest.
A good start. Hope the trend continues. I hope the 39 percent drop affects future contract negotiations for the millionaire marxists.
I always wonder about claims of viewership...
A sports bar, 20 tv’s playing. How many viewers is that?
An airport showing CNN, how many viewers is that?
In some cases, the number is ZERO. But we all know that they must be fluffing that up.
Note: When the most ardent fans can only view on TV, they don’t.
Kids these days too, they frankly don’t care that much about sports. They prefer video games.
The participation in video games massively dwarfs the viewership of just about anything.
Pro sports are dying fast, and the wokeness is making it happen more quickly.
So will the Alphabet Soup Networks pass on the losses to the NBA when Advertisers start looking for retroactive reduced advertising rates due to the ratings? Ha! I suspect not, all Parties are down with commie cause. Only Shareholders of said Companies will take a haircut.
Local sports bar went Tango Uniform from the rona.
Gave up on the NBA some years ago.
Just about the time LeBron James came into the league.
For me - hes had the same effect on the NBA as Obama has had
on our country.
Good riddance I say - may he live long and die a pauper.
That’s all?
To add, if Management, say Pepsi, Nike, FedEx or other properly woke Advertisers do not go back and renegotiate rates (Broadcasters are usually guaranteeing ratings for said rates) have they performed their fiduciary responsibility to Shareholders? Hello Class action lawsuits!
