"...Cannon Hinnant..."
Equally sad is Cannon Hinnant's grieving mother felt compelled to proclaim, "Cannon was not a racist." to the sick media vultures.

Just suspended? That's pretty weak.
Fire him.
Oh wait, you can't?
Because he has the correct skin color privilege?

That’s a horrible thing to say - but what’s this crap with people being suspended or fired over things they say?
I grew up (and still believe) we have free speech in this country and we can say whatever we want (on our own time) and if someone doesn’t like it, that’s THEIR problem.

I very much doubt Rome Smith would have fared any better in the same circumstances.
Just sayin'.

It's a five yo boy for crying out loud. Not to mention even if someone is a 'racist' as if that would justify murder.

Gee....wonder what would happen if a White office said a similar thing about the murder of a Black child?

A picture of the cop would be interesting.

We do not live in a sane world.

In general I agree with you. Many, many people have been fired over innocent comments. Today’s United States is something like Brezhnevs Russia. You dont get executed for your non-PC comments. But your life is ruined.
However, sometimes a comment is an indicator of a mentally sick person. Such a person should be removed from any position where he can hurt others. For example, suppose a fireman says that he loves watching houses burn to the ground. That guy probably shouldnt be a fireman.
Just like the guy in the article probably shouldnt be working at a juvenile detention center.
Yes, I know that standard has been applied way too loosely. If you say something pro-Trump and you work at a university, youre a racist. So gone you are.

Besides the shortages of coins and ammo, there is a shortage of black pixels.
That’s why were are not getting pictures of perps these days.

In a sane world no one would make such a vile statement.

I am not sure I quite agree with that. There are outrageous things you can say that may reveal you are unfit for a given position. Like someone who proclaims his sexual attraction to children being fired from a teaching position.
Let me also point out there is a difference between being fired and being arrested. Even so, free speech is not an absolute right (e.g., erroneously shouting fire in a crowded theater).
But, yes, it is a slippery slope.

If you can be tied to your work you’re on the clock. Embarrass the job, lose the job. It’s always been that way. Only difference now is it’s WAY easier to embarrass the job.

I call it free speech from a barstool. Yeah, you can say it but you’re likely to get knocked on your ass for it.

The 5 year old boy did nothing wrong. The subhuman who killed him should be dismembered and fed to hungry vultures.

Even without a picture, the officer’s ethnicity can be inferred from the text of his Facebook post, shown in Post 13.
