You read my mind!
Fascinating article.
I studied a bit of evolutionary biology so when I saw the headline I was surprised because it seems to suggest that scientists have shown evidence for evolution of the larynx itself, within a species.
But what they actually found was differences in the larynx among many different species.
If you then posit that evolution is true, then you can infer a lot about the process of evolution by looking at these differences.
But as far as I can see the paper does not actually establish that “Primate voice boxes are evolving at rapid pace” It would be more accurate to say “If evolution accounts for the differences between primate voice boxes, then it is happening at a rapid pace”.

If a chimp would talk, it would say
food
food
food
sex
sex
sex
fight
fight
food
sex
sex
food
fight
fight
Then why are today’s primates so many millions of years behind “their evolved ancestors”?
I hope they dont start asking for reparations.
In other words we’re headed for more talk, less action.
Our muscular structure is probably headed toward pressing buttons.
“it has long been believed “
