Presumptive Democratic presidential nominee Joe Biden leads President Trump by 10 points in a new national poll released Tuesday.
The latest Monmouth University survey finds Biden at 51 percent support, compared to Trump at 41 percent. Four percent of voters are undecided, while 2 percent support Libertarian Jo Jorgensen, 1 percent back Green Party candidate Howie Hawkins and 1 percent support other candidates.
The race is slightly tighter than the same poll found in late June, when Biden held a 52 to 39 percent lead. However, the 3-point shift in Trumps favor is within the margin of error. The former vice president has led by 9 points or more since May.
Trump has stopped his slide in the poll, but Biden maintains a lead among all registered voters nationally, said Monmouth pollster Patrick Murray.
The Trump campaign says it does not pay attention to national polls and has questioned surveys of registered voters, saying they are not indicative of the likely electorate. Analysts say Trump can lose the national popular vote by about 4 points and still win the Electoral College.

According to this, Trump gets 32% of Independents. I believe this poll since it is highly rated (A+) by Fivethirtyeight.
Such total BS..Biden is NOT leading nationally, he is going to lose by the same amount, maybe more than Clinton did in 2016..people are purposely LYING to pollsters..I see it all the time, lying out of fear but voting for Trump at the polling station
Fake polls, Fake News, and total censure of non leftist, communist news sources. Not to mention setting up all manor of vote fraud. It sounds like someone is going all out to steal an election.
Furthermore, Monmouth’s Oct 2016 poll had shrillary up 12 pts.
Partisan Media Shills update.
sorry, I just don’t buy that 38% of the people have no opinion and are independent. Every election is razer thin election after election. I would say it’s 40 dem 40 republican with 10% actually undecided, many of which wont even vote. The side that gets their voters out wins, every election.
The more they skew the polls the more Biden gets a pass for not debating since he is so far out in the polls! His cabal will use the polls as an excuse for Biden not to debate...mark it!!

Even if it’s that high it’s still low for RV. Is any Independent who tells a pollster they’re “undecided”(haha!) likely to vote for Biden? I’m skeptical. That’s more likely to be a hidden Trump voter.
Respectfully disagree. 2008 was not close. Obama destroyed McCain. 2018 House election was not close. We lost big.
Oh, Hell. Who are you voting for Safetgiver? “Biden!” Ok thank you. “Where is my payoff?” They hang up.
Of course you tout the validity of 538! The fact you believe ANY poll at this point shows exactly your political acumen.
You are very consistent in your belief that any poll against Trump is a good poll. Get back to DU where you belong.
I hope you are right.
No doubt the allied van lines are lining up already.

Broad support from women and minority voters has helped Hillary Clinton open an early lead over Donald J. Trump nationally, according to a new poll released on Monday.
A Monmouth University survey found that 47 percent of registered voters back Mrs. Clinton, the presumptive Democratic presidential nominee, while 40 percent support Mr. Trump, the Republican Partys standard-bearer. The survey is the latest in a succession of recent polls that show Mrs. Clinton having an advantage, as Mr. Trumps campaign has sputtered amid internal strife and an array of provocative public comments.
Keep in mind that literally all of Hillary’s popular vote lead in 2016 came from California, where she got 3.3 million more votes than Trump. Nationwide she got only 2.8 million more votes. So the fact that this is a national poll of registered voters means it is hardly an accurate picture of the state by state races. Also keep in mind that at this point in the race 4 years ago, Clinton was up by an average of 8 points in national polling.
Why bother doing a registered voter poll at this point. Were down to needing likely voter polls

Think they say 30% (R) 32%(D) and 38%(I).
