Good thing the Center had everything backed up at their Saudi Arabian headquarters.

These clowns responsible for maintaining the website are idiots. No excuse for this. I have no sympathy. Funny? Yes. Unfortunate? Well, that depends....

Blackbaud informed us that it paid a ransom to the attackers in order to obtain confirmation that the compromised unencrypted information has been destroyed, What would you accept as confirmation that data had been destroyed?

How much would it take to get them to destroy Obama’s data?
Oops, forgot...there isn’t any.

I think it does. But I’m not going there. I owe him a lot. He probably didn’t make the call to do this, but I’m still betting he’ll be looking for a job. Well, maybe he’ll come back to Texas now. I’ll have a convo on this, but won’t write about it. I shouldn’t have mentioned it. Was shocked to see this and reacted without thinking.

And for anyone who believes the data was destroyed .... I own a major New York City Bridge that I’d sell you at a bargain price.
To: RandFan
You mean the data was wiped, like with a cloth?

"Blackbaud informed us that it paid a ransom to the attackers in order to obtain confirmation that the compromised unencrypted information has been destroyed" right, because the thieves confirmed that they had made no copies that weren't destroyed ...

It is very inexpensive to back up off site.
The company I am at had ransomware on one of the network drives. The company just erased the drive and put a backup of the data back on. Only some newer files were lost as you have to go back before the ransomware showed up.
