If your business is dependent on big tech it would be a good idea to at the very least duplicate everything you do on safe platforms and always have copies of your content. Gmail closed an emmail account I was using to write a book about craigs list, years of research gone, they said I was a spammer account, denied my appeal.
2 years ago a conservative product page with 300,000 fans was deleted, they sold coffee, took their money to promote their page, in 2 seconds all gone. Now it is way worse, they are out to destroy and currently there is squat you can do about it.
Own your own domain which allows you to own your own email. Always post your content to sites that will be friendly to your rights versus big tech.
Good advice
Backup storage is cheap.
I’ve been slowly migrating away to a paid email service and getting away from the G as much as I can.
Yes, good advice. Thanks for posting.
Coukd you offer a name? Sounds like a good idea.
So far I am liking hushmail.com.
Multiple aliases.
Not so many bells and whistles that google offers though. I don’t need them.
I can’t agree more.

Thank you.
Legitimate Email accounts should absolutely be treated like a necessary utility at this point with no way for a tech company to legally remove it. They should at the very least have to transfer them to another email account.

Mr. Pichai, is Google going to tailor its features to help Joe Biden in the 2020 election? Jordan asked.
Congressman, we approach our work, we support both campaigns today. We think political ads is [sic] an important part of free speech in democratic societies, and we engage with campaigns you know according to law and we approach our work in a nonpartisan way, the Google CEO responded.
Its a yes or no question, Jordan responded. Can you assure Americans today you wont tailor your features to help Joe Biden in the upcoming election?
We support work that campaigns do, Pichai said, referring to ads, hosting, and other services Google provides.
I understand that, the congressman replied. He said he was not concerned about Googles services offered equally to everyone, he was concerned about Google tailoring its features to help, specifically help, one candidate over another.
We wont do any work to politically tilt anything one way or the other, its against our core values, Pichai insisted.
Then Jordan explained the source of his concern. But you did it in 2016, he said. Ms. Eliana Murillo, head of your multicultural marketing, talks about the silent donation Google made to the Clinton campaign, and you applauded her work...
