Mrs. Augie's pickle patch is still producing like crazy. I think she's past 24qts of fermented dills now. The tomatoes are trying to catch up to where they should be. I had my eye on a ~2lb brandywine a few days ago, but Mr. Cottontail got to it before I did.
We declared war on the muskrat clan that invaded the front yard cow pond, and have dispatched five of the vermin so far. The rascals tunneled into what I suspect is a void left by the root of a tree that was removed from the dam when we built the house. There's a noticable flow of water seeping through the dam now. That wasn't happening before they moved in, so I've got some work ahead of me to locate and repair that.
Water in the bait pond almost reached the overflow after yesterday's rainfall.
Have been busy moving planters which easily fall over to more secure locations. We are expecting this hurricane, whose name I can’t pronounce. Seeme like we are getting a bit of the leading edge right now as there is some drizzle in the air. For those in this group who night be effected by this storm, be safe out there!

it is Just starting. 60 mph winds expected.
hopefully, some older trees will get pruned in the woods. Lets more sunlight in for the smaller trees. Any empty space gets filled within 24 months.

storm veered to the west. Off the Hudson River New York.
there were enough limbs down regardless. Wet leaves on trees are heavy in August. Especially oak leaves.
very little sunflower damage. which is important.
roflmao! The hurricane has come and gone. My neighborhood faired pretty well. My weather alert kept issuing tornado warnings starting about 4:00 a.m. and lots of stuff was blown about. Glad that I moved my planters to a safer location. Other parts of the area weren’t so lucky. I’ve been watching the reports from areas affected by it. What a b***h of a storm!
Hi Fellow hopeful gardeners!!
I need some advice please. Something or someone is eating the leaves of my squash and cucs. Last year and part of this year, I battled the )*()(*(^&%^ squash worm and FINALLY this year have had one zucchini picked and got my cucs planted late but now something is eating the leaves!! Any ideas what causes this? It looks like I set fire to the leaf and a slow burn is happening. I’d post a photo but have no idea how!!
