On Monday, the government made the drastic decision to begin evacuating 80,000 people from Da Nang, a process it said would take four days. Domestic airlines are operating about 100 flights daily to 11 cities around the country, according to the Civil Aviation Authority of Vietnam. I would have thought that evacuating the tourists to other Vietnam cities would spread the virus country wide, unless the tourists were rigorously checked for the virus before boarding aircraft. - Tom

I was a “tourist”, in uniform, around Da Nang 50 years ago. Wish someone had evacuated me and my brothers.
