I was playing in my backyard today and found over a dozen ‘carryover’ tomato plants from last year. Heck, I might even have more back there.
Never dawned on me why my chickens liked to forage back there. Now I know. I staked them up today and will probably get some more maters in a few weeks.

Down in the produce section, we like to call that our "bag of bugs".

I’ve found that if wrap fresh produce tightly in aluminum foil it keeps up to 3 weeks with no deterioration, that includes celery, leaf lettuce and nearly every thing else. Not much luck with cucumbers, tho.

For whatever reason, I cannot grow lettuce this year. I tried earlier, too much rain. I am growing the heck out of maters, peppers, and blueberries, but not lettuce.

I've had incredible luck with mustard greens and kale. My okra just started coming on and I've got eggplants too. I picked 8-9 uncracked corn kernels out of the chickens scratch bag and they all came up and all have ears of corn on. Crazy. 😀
