Not at all. You have to consider the recipient or audience. In this instance, he had to put it into a scenario that the questioner could grasp. It's like trying to explain something to a small child, it simply needs to placed into a context using the simplest words possible. Sometimes that means using more words and taking longer. But if it gets the point across, task accomplished.

The big question is, how much of your risk are you allowed to impose on me? Should you be able to force me to take measures which have been shown to be injurious to health, such as wearing a mask everywhere I go?
