Hey there folks. A buddy of mine asked me to come up to shoot next weekend and I'm coming up empty on ammo availability. Anybody know of a decent online retailer I could try? I struck out on all the big chains like Cabelas and Gander outdoors.

Oh ...
You’re in CA. Anyone here in CA with stock on hand?
Nice folks. d:^)

Also, what is the jacketing of the Russian stuff you're looking at? There is some debate about steel.
Our local ranch & supply store here (in MT) has had the best ammo supply the past few months. You might look into those (if you have any nearby).
Plenty of stock, but I’m a long term hoarder. Most of my shooting is 22’s with the grandkids, but I have plenty for defense.
Lucky Gunner ships the fastest, but you have to check the site early evey day for the most popular calibers. Ive seen them sell out of 150 boxes of 9 mm in a few minutes.
I have been buying from ammo.com but since I am in Washington and they are in Knoxville Tennessee the shipping cost kind of jacks it up.
$$
I should find a closer place.
Thanks.
Ammoseek.com
Gunbot.com
both search all the online sellers for you
Also, you might have some luck with armslist.com, it’s kind of a craigslist for ammo and guns. You won’t find ammo bargains but you might find ammo.
also, Palmetto state armory is a very reputable seller, don’t know what they might have.
Sounds unConstitutional.
This site is all gun related things including ammo deals from various suppliers. Overall a very good gun news site. You can sign up for their daily email and keep up on gun industry news usually about 15 articles per email and at their website you can look at previous articles by category.
Ammoland.com
Try armslist.com, you might find some individual sellers in your area.
I’m in LA. everyone is sold out. I need some ammunition.
The manual for my Mini-14, 1977, 180- serial number, that I used to have before the unfortunate boating accident, specifically states that it will use .233 and 5.56. The barrel is stamped 223 Remington.
Your mileage may vary.
Thank you.
Never let your inventory get so low that you can’t go out for a fun weekend. Stock-up my FRiend.
Back when we had our last ammo shortages I bought some Wolf .223 steel, worked fine for several thousand rounds. Then I had this nasty jam, thought I was going to have to go to a gunsmith. Fortunately, I got it out. The brass .223 /5.56 had come down by that time & the price difference wasn't as significant, so I sold the Wolf and went back to brass.
Would I buy the Wolf again? If no brass was available, yes I would. I was shooting the steel .223 through a Rock River Arms Wylde chamber.
It's California, they've never heard of the Constitution there. Well, actually they have. But they don't think it applies to them; so far no one has proven them wrong on that point.
If it has a 223 WYLDE CHAMBER like a Rock River it can shoot either one.
The 5.56 chamber will shoot .223 Just fine but not the other way around.
