btw : great trivia question i ran across “who was first to record “MAMMY” most would say AL JOLSON but he recorded it in 1922 an it was huge hit. The first was WILLIAM FRAWLEY who us oldsters remember as FRED MERTZ on the I LOVE LUCY SHOW . Frawley recorded it in 1918. Trying to imagine fred as a singer with his portly bod and gravellike voice! oh well its ONLY MUSIC!
