The Boston Red Sox made a very visible statement of anti-racism Wednesday as they put up a huge Black Lives Matter sign on an exterior wall of Fenway Park.
The sign, which says "Black Lives Matter" in large letters followed by the Sox' logo, faces the Massachusetts Turnpike and directs viewers to the Red Sox Foundation website for more information.
On the website is a statement on "Social Justice, Equity and Inclusion" from team President and CEO Sam Kennedy posted last month in the wake of the major protests over the deaths of George Floyd, Breonna Taylor, Ahmaud Arbery and others.

They’ll blame any loss in fans / revenue to the wuhan virus.
Bottom line, in their arrogance, they lost touch with their customer-base. I feel sorry for the athletes in professional baseball. How can rich business people be so stupid?
I think “Pirates” is the closest match to BLM.
I don’t think this is going to go over very will with Red Sox fans.
They're not stupid. They're just privy to financial details that viewers are not.
For more than a decade, long before this Social Justice Warrior (SJW) nonsense, the sick money counters in professional sports have bastardized other causes (regardless of the impact to members of society) for their own financial interests as they attempt to squeeze as much money they can out of a dying medium (television).
The Red Sox owners care so little about the lives of Black Americans that they're contributing to lies and unrest just to lessen their losses due to the decline of the sports entertainment industry.
“Im from the south and the most racist place Ive lived was Boston in the mid 70s.”
I was there for a week in the mid 80’s and it hadn’t changed. I’m from the Detroit area and I had never seen such explicit racism, as I saw and heard in Boston. I’m guessing it likely hasn’t changed that much.
“The Boston Red Sox made a very visible statement of anti-racism Wednesday...”
...that would be INCORRECT YOU BUNCH OF F’N ASSHOLES! The Red Sox made a very visible statement of RACISM.
MLB is fading fading fading from my viewership plans.
Translation: WE PANDER BIGGER!
How long before that billboard is defiled by someone with a paint brush or such?
Baseball as a business does not understand, as NASCAR doesn’t, that you don’t mix politics and fun. Bartenders understand to not talk about politics or religion, because they want as many people in the bar, eating and drinking, as possible. Baseball is in the process of slitting its own throat.
What the Major Leagues ought to do is state that, without any reservation, it does not condone or support racism and that the sport has made remarkable progress since 1947, when Jackie Robinson first played MLB, such that there is now no discrimination permitted in any form. IOW, we are welcoming to ALL people.
In the meantime, they have just endorsed an organization that is Socialist/Communist to its core, notwithstanding the “good cause” that it purports to support on the surface.
Between this and the strike in the mid-’90s, MLB is dead to me.
The same thing is currently practiced in North Korea, with the Kims in place of Stalin.
A working business model: Alienating nearly half your prospective viewers and fans, GG, MLB, GG. /s
I’m a conservative Trump supporter, an Orthodox Christian, a white man, and a Red Sox fan!
Go figure!! Curt Schilling and Bloody Sock forever!!!!
Well, the good news here is just one more reason for me to detest the red sucks.
anti racism by throwing up banner of a hate filled anti America Anti White, and anti cop Marxist organization?
Boy corporations are either very dumb or they know what is going and and actually support cultural Marxism.
Any white person who gives money to an organization that hates them like the mlb, deserves what they receive in return.

The left destroys everything it touches.
It is way past time we destroy the left and their useful idiots!

EVERYTHING! Every city, every school, every community,
I confess, this brought a tear to my eye. Something like taking away the last illusion...
I have been a Red Sox fan my whole life- and there were some years it was a trial:)
For a time I lived in Boston and could walk to a game, which I often did with friends, a couple times by myself. I loved Fenway Park and the Sox.
This entire BLM bandwagon is built with rotted wood and rusted axels- which they’ve covered it with shiny paint.
But it seems to appease the ignorant fools who believe it has anything to do with black Americans, with racism or hate. These self-righteous corporations and sports teams are simply and astonishingly STUPID.
As for Fenway and the Red Sox, I’m out.
I think boycotting the NBA, Baseball, and the NFL is the way to go.
How will they feel it?
Walk into a bar and order lunch. If a game is on, tell them you are insulted if they refuse to turn it off. Then just walk out. Let them eat the lunch.
If enough of us do this, all three are toast.
