Ford Motor Company has unveiled what is being called a "one-off prototype" electric race car named the Mach-E 1400. The insane vehicle boasts a near 57-kilowatt battery, seven different motors, and 1,400 horsepower.
Three of its motors power the front wheels, with four connected to the rear, providing a stunning 2,300 pounds of downforce.
"Getting behind the wheel of this car has completely changed my perspective on what power and torque can be," professional driver Vaughn Gittin Jr. said.
Ford executives are not planning to sell the car but rather use it as a "test bed for new materials." They are also planning to use it as a proof of concept for the performance of an electric fleet of cars.
🔦 Ford has promised to invest $11.5 billion in electric vehicles through 2022.

Sorry - didn’t mean to talk down to you. Re-reading, I can see your tone. Have a great week.
Must. be rough on the walls ...
Come on....Nothing deflates ego when you pull up to the limit line at an intersection and some 80 year old pulls up in the same exact vehicle...This is certainly not the custom car era of days gone by. It’s not even debatable.
Or maybe in this case Ford engineered in a 1400 HP Chaparral inspired fan to suck that baby down to the pavement.

Obviously you are not aware of the aftermarket! In fact many more thing are capable of being modified!
Factory cars are designed to emission and warranty issues. Name a part and I will discuss how mods are rampant!
I recall when neighborhood garage doors in half the neighborhood were open until midnight, with mostly young people working on their cars. The car was everything....Nowadays, most young people in their 20's prefer skateboards and the only people buying these expensive car appliances are old guys in their 70s and 80s because they're the only people who can afford them. For the most part, young people today have little or no interest in cars. It's very different today, whether you admit it or not.
“Young guys arent going to want a car like that unless its loud enough to annoy the hell out of old people.”
Comes with a front-mounted speaker!
I always thought that was such a great idea.

They weren’t modding, just trying to keep them running!

Non Sequitur
Don't know about that... About 40-years ago the wife threw a toaster at me for forgetting our 20th wedding anniversary and it easily came close to those numbers...
“It’s very different today, whether you admit it or not.”
Yes it is! You can buy a low mileage Mustang for $20k that will blow the doors off the supercars of yore.
Then mod it to your hearts content!
“You’re not very convincing to me. But try someone else, ya might get different results.”
Apparently you have a closed mind.
“You go ahead and try to convince me this is like the car culture of decades gone by. lol...’
That was not the point of discussion. We were discussing the aftermarket mods.
Nothing could touch them during the brief windows between breakdowns.
Jim Hall was a mad genius.
1,700 horsepower delivered to the wheels cannot create “2,300 pounds of downforce” unless the power is turning winches tied to the ground.
The author is not very bright when it comes to automotive tech.

The wing creates the downforce.
Copy/paste does not make one an author!
He’s talking about the downforce created by the spoiler............at 160-170 mph...........
It would be nice if the OP did some research before posting.
