57kW is equal to 76 HP. Am I missing something here?
Where do these environmentally friendly “electric car” advocates think the electricity needed to recharge the batteries of their stupid new inventions comes from? Hint—we live on a petroleum-based planet so it’s either coal or oil you dummies. Or nuclear. But not nuclear, at least not in the U.S., if your cohorts on the left have anything to say about it.
Huh? Am I so old that I don't get what rear downforce is? Race cars want down force in the front to keep them from flipping over or going airborne. Is this another stupid writer who doesn't know what torque is? I'm confused.
They can’t think that far.
That is one cool video. Drive it like that and you will need new tires about every 1/4 mile though.
By ‘downforce’ I believe the writer is referring to the WEIGHT of the MOTORS ON THE WHEELS................
The production four-door Mach-E will be offered in four trims and start at $44,995. Depending on the version, Fords electric Mustang will have a range of 230 to 300 miles per charge and zip to 60 mph in under 4 seconds. With a DC Fast Charger, the automaker claims a 10-minute charge will be good for 61 miles of additional range.
Following on the heels of the all-electric Mustang Cobra Jet 1400, Mustang Mach-E 1400 is projecting 1,400 peak horsepower and more than 2,300 lb. of downforce at 160 mph from its seven motors and ultra-high-performance battery
Low 8's @ 170!
No. He left out ‘ @ 170 mph’.
Downforce, not torque.
“57kW is equal to 76 HP. Am I missing something here?”
Very bad writer. The OP should have linked the Ford article.
Will it get me faster to the grocery store than my 1957 Chevy Bel Air? Which is paid for.
F1 guys get 5g of downforce. 2500 is peanuts.
“Huh? Am I so old that I don’t get what rear downforce is? Race cars want down force in the front to keep them from flipping over or going airborne. Is this another stupid writer who doesn’t know what torque is? I’m confused.”
It is downforce but why don’t all the Race cars have wings on the front?
“Will it get me faster to the grocery store than my 1957 Chevy Bel Air? Which is paid for.”
Yes!
The rear wing is. only 25% of. that.
“By downforce I believe the writer is referring to the WEIGHT of the MOTORS ON THE WHEELS................”
No. He is referring to the wing downforce @ 170 mph.
Im pretty sure race cars are designed for front end downforce, and F1 cars, for example, do have front wings, though I think the most downforce comes from the cars main underbody.
Used the hatchback of my Spirit of America Vega for just that purpose.
Had a tough time getting some of those new materials off the fake carpet.
