This is an ENVIRONMENTAL CRISIS!!! If we don’t plug up the hole it might cause the entire oceans of the world to drain into it!
I call on all members of Greenpiece, Sierra Club, and similar organizations to rush down there and throw their bodies into it to help plug it up.

A number of years ago IIRC a study that determined that there was a direct link from Crater Lake to the Pacific Ocean based upon the organisms discovered. This would make some type of sense in that Cater Lake is in caldera of an ancient volcano in the southern Oregon Cascades and the connection to the pacific would be a volcanic vent hole.
