I was at Scout Camp! Amazing! I watched the moon landing from a log cabin without wired electrical outlets or running water!
They brought in a TV, set it up in the middle of a cabin, ran some power to the cabin from the nearby Mess Hall, got the best reception possible in that part of Northern Wisconsin, and we watched the landing on a static filled TV set!
My brother’s birthday.
We were at a cottage on Lake Carmi in Vermont.
Grandpa kept waking me up so I wouldn’t miss it.
We watched it on a new Sylvania color TV that cost almost as much as a new car in 1969. Not the same now for sure.
RE I was at Scout Camp:
That is so FReeQing cute, PFSM!
I was in boot camp - rifle range, MCRD - San Diego - when the Drill Instructor(still can’t call them D.I.) kicked us out of the rack at zero dark thirty, formed us on the “grinder” in our skivvies and flip-flops and had us wave to the guys on the moon, then hand salute.
