Conservative author and activist Michelle Malkin was brutally assaulted and prevented from speaking as she made her way to the speakers platform at a pro-police public rally in downtown Denver on Sunday. The patriotic event, the 6th Annual Law Enforcement Appreciation Day billed as family friendly, was advertised in advance on social media including at Malkins Twitter, where she has 2.2 million followers.
Malkin was live streaming the event from her cell phone on Periscope Sunday afternoon as the situation deteriorated after masked thugs wearing Black Lives Matter t-shirts assaulted two speakers and then set upon Malkin. A diminutive child of immigrants from the Philippines who legally moved to the U.S. in the late 1960s, Malkin, who was born in Philadelphia in 1970, describes herself as a little brown woman with a big mouth. Malkin linked to the entire 35 minute long Periscope video at her Twitter.
On the video, which had been viewed over 150,000 times by early Monday, several individuals identifying themselves as Black Lives Matter accost Malkin as one or more of them unfurl collapsible batons and begin pushing and beating on Malkin. In the process, she loses a shoe and is eventually assisted in escaping to a waiting car by the events security volunteers, at which point the video feed ends. Malkin was understandably distraught at this unanticipated violent turn of events and expressed frustration that Denver police, who were visibly present in the area, did nothing to stop the attacks or to allow the peaceful pro-police rally to continue.

Thanks laplata, but still, what WOULD happen in such a case? Could that (no election) ever happen? And, if it does, what then? Also, to your question, what would happen if it were disrupted?
Good points/questions. I suppose if the election was disrupted but some votes were counted, it would be considered incomplete and some sort of postponement would be called for.
You are in.. Thanks
In a heartbeat. I wonder when folks will start realizing that the police are nothing but tax collectors for the State.
You are correct.
“Denver police, who were visibly present in the area, did nothing to stop the attacks or to allow the peaceful pro-police rally to continue.”
They follow the orders and do the bidding of the names that have their signatures on their paychecks. Almost exclusively in cities in America, even in Red States, those are names of leftist Democrats. Sheriffs departments, often elected, are a different beast. But looking for help from those whose paychecks and pensions are controlled by far leftists, is not wise.
p
That has to change.
I love these passive, pleading comments expecting someone else with a magic wand to grant our wishes.
Whos going to cause that to change?
On the contrary. I “passively” voted for McCain. Got Obama. Voted for Romney. Got Obama again. Voted for Rubio. Got a GOP endorsed coup against President Trump for that vote.
My family will no longer support the terminally corrupt GOP post Trump due to their collusion with progressive Democrats in the Age of Trump. However, I’m not interested in a kamikaze run into no mans land without back up. We’ve got to look out for family and local community now since there is no opposition party to progressive-corportist alliance.
So what’s your plan, Stan?
Thank you! If Michelle repeats this disaster next year, we should corral your list and get the Colorado Freeper Army there.
Police did nothing to stop the attack on Malkin....
Again I have to say the police are going to have to stand on one side or the other. As in the Russian Revolution and others.
Our side is law and order, living in nonviolent tolerance, respect for law enforcement with proper insurance that they also follow the law, and belief that honoring the US Constitution and keeping America free is worth the effort.
Other side is acceptance of CHOP and other anarchy, sanctuary cities defying federal law, allowing Marxist anti-American BLM (read its mission statements and leaders quotes) to take over, destruction and burning of buildings out of angry spite (Wendy’s didn’t cause the drive through guy being killed later but it burned down),allowing thugs to surround cars and trap drivers and families inside, and supporting deliberate targeting and ambushing of officers to beat and often kill them (several case in past two years alone). Also political gathering where Antifa hit people with metal, saps in leather gloves and bricks.
No middle, squishy cowardly Kasich-Bush family style wimp-out allowed. One or the other.
Real tough people to beat up a 5’1” 49-year-old woman.
Yea like the cops in Portland,Seattle, and everywhere else they stand down. The law is the law (if it works for everyone.
Screw the police.
Thats the problem...they WERE doing their job, as defined by those elected by the people of Denver to determine what the job of the police is and how it should be done. They give the orders and those orders are legal. The real problem is who has been put in power over the police and their philosophy...the people of most American cities have elected veritable communists into power...so you will get communist (political) policing in those jurisdictions.
That is a keeper photo
Anybody that needs Eyewash need only gaze at her for a second or two
The Mayor and Chief stood down weeks ago, abetted by a Democrat federal judge’s order. They turned Civic Center, where the Capitol and City Hall are located along with the park where this attack occurred, over to the mob.
*** “Real tough people to beat up a 51 49-year-old woman”***
WHERE were the the REAL Real Tough people to intervene?
I am pissed that folks like me were not there for her
Remember in 2004 when Zell Miller challenged Chris Matthews to a dual for being rude to Michell Malkin? Fast forward sixteen years to 2020 when law enforcement officers will passively stand by while a gang of thugs beats Michelle Malkin.
We’re close to the point where law enforcement officers “just following orders” will arrest Michelle Malkin for thought crimes and take her to a “re-education” camp.
If that is the extent of your argument, and history aside blindly following "orders" usually ends up with a injured party, and to say that I was just following orders ignoring the civilians being assaulted is in contravention to the law.
To stand down while someone gets assaulted proves that your there for a paycheck and not protecting those under your purview. Which falls under seditious conspiracy, misprision of felony.
And make the offender who did nothing a worthless POS.
And to say "just following orders" is what the Nazi's used in their defense at Nuremberg.
