Flubros and Flubras! Day 120 (a place for Flubros and Flubras)

It’s just the flu, bro.

Texas Governor Greg Abbott seems to have developed a bit of a backbone, finally, when it comes to Covid. No municipality can enforce any CV mitigation strategies against any religious church or school.

-

This CV is a real test of how much politicians and people like freedom and big government. There are some who think that no amount of government intervention is too much. They don’t know their history and they don’t know what makes America great. I know that I am listening to someone who doesn’t fully believe in liberty if their opinion about the virus repeatedly uses one of the following two catch phrases - “we need common sense approaches to CV” or “we need to follow the science when it comes to CV”. Following the science and common sense are all secondary to the constitution and freedom and liberty. As soon as science and “common sense” take over then there is no right to liberty anymore. And Obama used the phrase “common sense” all the time so it is nauseating.

nothing like a “scientific consensus”!

18 Jul: Reuters: Google bans ads on coronavirus conspiracy theory content
by Sheila Dang
Alphabet Inc’s Google said on Friday it would prohibit websites and apps that use its advertising technology from running ads on “dangerous content” that goes against scientific consensus during the coronavirus pandemic.
The world’s largest search engine updated its policy as the health crisis has continued to rage throughout the United States, and digital advertising giants like Google and Facebook Inc have faced calls to do more to clamp down on misinformation...

Content not allowed to make money from ads include debunked conspiracy theories, such as the notion that the novel coronavirus was created in a Chinese lab as a bioweapon, that it was created by Microsoft Corp founder Bill Gates, or that the virus is a hoax, Google said in a statement.
Google already bars ads with harmful content like “miracle” health cures or which promote the anti-vaccination movement. It also prevents ads from running on publisher content that encourages those topics...

Quit using Google. More people need to walk way from it. All I use now is DuckDuckGo.

Dept of Justice: Transcript of Attorney General Barr’s Remarks on China Policy at the Gerald R. Ford Presidential Museum
Grand Rapids, MI. Friday, July 17, 2020
Hollywood is far from alone in kowtowing to the PRC. America’s big tech companies have also allowed themselves to become pawns of Chinese influence. In the year 2000, when the United States normalized trade relations with China, President Clinton hailed the new century as one in which “liberty will be spread by cell phone and cable modem.” Instead, over the course of the next decade, American companies, such as Cisco, helped the Communist Party build the Great Firewall of China — the world’s most sophisticated system for Internet surveillance and censorship.

Over the years, corporations such as Google, Microsoft, Yahoo, and Apple have shown themselves all too willing to collaborate with the CCP. For example, Apple recently removed the news app Quartz from its app store in China, after the Chinese government complained about the coverage of the Hong Kong democracy protests. Apple also removed apps for virtual private networks, which had allowed users to circumvent the Great Firewall, and eliminated pro-democracy songs from its Chinese music store. Meanwhile, the company announced that it would be transferring some of its iCloud data to servers in China, despite concerns that the move would give the Communist Party easier access to e-mails, text messages, and other user information stored in the iCloud...

I found myself being forced to use DuckDuckGo. That is, I know there are articles about a certain subject that I’m trying to find but when I use Google they’re just not there. I go to duck. Going there right there at the top. And, interestingly, Bing is almost as good as DuckDuckGo.

I've used both and I prefer BING, but google is so slanted, that sometimes, even with a very refined search, they will NOT let you find what you are looking for.

I've never been on fakebook, twatter or instant-grim so I can't have a real opinion based on experience.

From what I read about shadow banning, they are all very communist/lefty methods, so I see no reason to get involved.

"A COVID-19 (SARS-CoV-2) particle is 0.125 micrometers (μm); influenza virus size is 0.08 – 0.12 μm"

"Virus-laden small (<5 μm) aerosolized droplets can remain in the air for at least 3 hours and travel long distances."

"All of the cloth masks and materials had near zero efficiency at 0.3 µm, a particle size that easily penetrates into the lungs."

"Conclusion: Wearing masks will not reduce SARS-CoV-2."

"Cloth masks will be ineffective at preventing SARS-CoV-2 transmission, whether worn as source control or as personal protective equipment (PPE)."
