A Florida man was arrested Saturday for allegedly going on a vandalism spree, scrawling anti-racism messages on some 100 stop signs in one community, a report said.
Zachary Kato, 32, is accused of using stencils and paint to write racism or I cant breathe under the word stop on traffic signs in the city of Port Orange, the Orlando Sentinel reported, citing an arrest affidavit.
Katos alleged vandalism spree cost the city $12,500 in damage, the report said.
Police tracked him down on Friday with the help of surveillance footage.
Officers recovered paint cans in his garbage and other evidence, including receipts and cellphone screenshots.
Upon the discovery of the evidence, Kato went on an expletive-filled rant, according to the report.
He allegedly dared the cops who searched his home to arrest him, fuming: I want to see a judge and jury tell me that speaking out against (expletive) racism is wrong.
Kato was charged with criminal mischief.
He has several prior arrests, including one in 2013, when he was accused of strangling his father in a fight.

Stop signs are clearly racis’.
From Orlando Sentinel:
“Kato has been in and out of law enforcements hands since 2005 on a number of different charges including multiple DUIs, highway racing, possession of marijuana and a third degree felony of domestic battery by strangulation, according to Volusia court records. The latter is in reference to a 2013 incident where Kato was in a verbal altercation with his father Jeffrey, an arrest affidavit shows.”
Give him the same punishment they do in Singapore for vandalism - 100 strokes with the cane - for each sign he defaced.
He looks like an insane person.................
After spray painting 100 signs, I’d probably have difficulty breathing as well. Like the first 20 would say “I can breathe fine”. The second 20, “I feel kind of funny”. The third 20, “I’m starting to have trouble breathing”. The next 20, “There’s something very wrong. I feel dizzy”. Then finally “I can’t breathe”.
“Accused of strangling his father in a fight.”
And he’s worried about other unknown people struggling to breathe? You can’t make this crap up.
Yeah, I always did that too when I got into an argument with my Dad.
Of course I didn't. About the only time my Dad got angry was when one of us kids would talk back to our mother...and once he got a hold of you for it, you knew enough to never do it again.
He head looks like he’s hydrocephalic.
Baker act him
Come on, manhe’s a muralist. And a stop sign is more like a wall than a street is.
because nothing ever happens in other states oh wait it does.
Someone was complaining the other day that the little white guy on crosswalk signals is racist
I can see where some peeps can get get triggered with the orange figures...
So many people have WAY too much free time these days.
There’s a stop sign in my neighborhood to which I have considered adding a sign which says...
“Can you read?”
“I can’t breathe!”
“Then stop feedin’ us beans, Mr. Taggart!”
