The nations leading mens college basketball coaches association has called the SAT and ACT longstanding forces of institutional racism and wants them eliminated from use in determining athletes eligibility. The National Association of Basketball Coaches made the move three days after naming its first-ever Black executive director, the former Division I coach Craig Robinson. It also came the month after the organization formed a Committee on Racial Reconciliation, co-chaired by Harvard coach Tommy Amaker and South Carolina...

Oh yeah, this will do a lot to dispel the “dumb jock” stereotype.
Bwahahahaha
IOW. We need players so why are you making hard???
Tell these butt holes that the tail does not wag the dog.
so merit and achievement tests are now ‘racist’
Dear Coach, is your statement an open admission that you are inferior, or what?
(ps: the smartest kid in my undergraduate class was black, so don’t give me any more BS that black people are inferior, you are full of Sheit making statements like that!)
Proving that the real purpose of college basketball is the coachs salary.
But college athletics has nothing to do with an education. They are guaranteed a degree and da program will see to it that no one fails, right up to having someone else take their tests for them. The SAT and ACT do a passable job of making sure the one who is taking the test is the one who will get the grade. In college, da program has it all arranged, wink wink, nudge nudge. This will allow da program the expense of requiring that their students are smart enough to get into college.
Ask yourself this: if da coach earns more than the president of the university, wouldnt you question that universitys credential to confer a degree?
Didn’t you get the memo? Having an intact family, having a work ethic, showing up on time, delaying gratification, believing in the validity of the scientific method, planning for the future, believing in the validity of property rights, and believing in the value individualism are all racist now.
Lulz, nearly 3/4s of them can’t read nor understand what they read nor can they put an academic paragraph together.......been my experience teaching nearly a decade at uni/college level.
LOL - of course they do.
College bball is over anyway. The top prospects are going to directly to the professional G league after high school. Four out of the top five best HS players are doing just that come September. The days of the one-and-done are over.

I don’t know about you, but I always look to college basketball coaches for unbiased guidance concerning the importance of academic achievement in collegiate athletics and modern society. Why not just inaugurate a juvenile penal league and avoid the temporary “college detour” altogether?
National standardized academic testing exposes the corruption and lack of achievement standards in inner-city schools. If they can spell their name, and not murder a teacher in the meantime, they’ll graduate with a 3.5 GPA.
*****
You mean they're going to start recruiting more white, asian and hispanic players??
You would think it’s insulting because it’s basically saying “we need to lower the acceptance threshold even lower to give minorities a chance to get in.”
It also says the university doesn’t care about education, they need the sports revenue.
Ahh, but it does.
Heh, entrance exams have never made much diff. No change here, in reality. Our universities are now a joke in virtually every area. Upcoming graduates should be treated as the total dumb*sses that they are. And that most certainly includes law grads - because we know where the bottom of that crowd goes ...”Future Congresscritter”.
I agree, I believe we need the DUMBEST STUDENTS to play basketball! I mean, we do have a high school drop out, who thinks he know about China - Hong Kong relations!
How having a winning basketball program can be reconciled with the New Virtues that denigrate (Oops! Can I still use that word?) being #1, winning at all costs, an action orientation, a winner/loser dichotomy, aggressiveness, decisiveness, and so on is beyond me.
And shoe contracts.
