Plimoth Plantation will change its name to better incorporate the history of the Native Americans who have long lived in the region.
A new moniker that will be inclusive of the Indigenous history that is part of our educational mission will be unveiled later this year, the living history museum said.

Im offended by the word Plymouth.
They need to change it to the Ford Plantation.
They were a primitive culture, sparsely populating an entire continent. It was inevitable that they would be displaced by civilization eventually. Its pointless for people to fret about it hundreds of years later.
Heres a funny one at Fairfax California where I live quite a long time watching the kids in the middle of town there with their little signs
For a while they were holding crap up like defund the police fuck the police and all that kind of garbage
Now its white silence is violence and white people stole this land in Marin County from the Miwok’s
Lol
Plymouth is now a shrine to the indigenous peoples Genocided by the evil pilgrims. A giant statue of godlike Massasoit dwarfs the rest of the area, and William Bradfords grave is almost impossible to find. The mentally deranged walk the streets. It is metaphoric to 2020 America
That sucks. I had wanted to get to Plimoth Plantation this year as I discovered that one of my great-grandparents came over on the Mayflower, and was a signer of the Mayflower Compact. I've been to Plymouth, Mass. a couple of times in the past, and even visited Plymouth, England, and saw the steps they boarded the ship from, but never knew about the family connection at the time. George Soule is my ancestor's name, and there is supposed to be a re-creation of his house at Plimoth Plantation.
I guess one sign of being old is having been taught the Battle Hymn and Dixie in grade school, having learned the history from the perspective of both sides.
” inevitable that they would be displaced by civilization eventually “
And inevitetable thst ‘we’ would get the blame.
Queen Elizabeth is the head of the Church of England.
Henry Ford was an anti-Semite. Instead of the Plymouth Plantation, what about the MOPAR Plantation.
I still have some of the school song books from the ‘50s and earlier. A ton of songs that would have the PC police screaming now (including a section of hymns). That’s our history.
Dixie
Kentucky Babe
Some Stephen Foster songs
My wife is a descendant of the Mayflower colonists. She will be appalled to hear of this.
a reported seducer of Jane Fonda,
By all accounts not a difficult thing to accomplish.
I have seen “White silence is violence” as far back as two years ago. It was once my tagline. Pop culture, media and education with scant exceptions have combined to destroy minds.
Keep lists of the names of the people who are doing this. They will be handy after the Trump election win.
Glad we’ve been. Won’t go back.
BTW, the last time we were there a few years ago, peak season, it was deader than a doornail.
This WON’T help.
The place sucks anyway. They should name it, The place in Plymouth That Sucks.
I checked an online source out of curiosity and Plymouth voted for Bill Clinton’s wife 49-45% over President Trump in 2016. That is almost a landslide victory for Trump considering it is Massachusetts.
I am descended from that cohort of colonists.
I am not appalled. They have been doing this crap for years. The Plantation and Sturbridge Village, and Mystic seaport used to present life the way it was. Now, you feel like slashing your wrists by them time youve gone through because of the anti white bull crap.
Tear the places down and put up condos. Its better use of the land.
I was making more reference to the place, not the town. While not a huge fan of the South Shore, Plymouth is more liveable than Cambridge.
But the place is a bore. They could tear it down and let it turn into a barren field. It would be more interesting.
Eventually everything will be named either with a number or a single alphabet letter.
