The best live band, The Who early 70s, hands down.

Perhaps a similar thread topic is individual albums. Boston’s first album still holds up after all these years. Appetite for Destruction was a juggernaut. And someone already mentioned Dark Side of the moon.

This may make a few eyes roll, but I’m going with the REAL fab four:

Ace, Gene, Peter and Paul.

That’s right, KISS.

Four boys from NYC who worked hard, followed their dreams, and ended up multi millionaires.

Not the greatest artistes, but man, they put on a show and proved that hard work and determination could propel you to stratospheric heights.

Feel free to disagree, of course. But I have loved them since 1977.

Rock on, Freepers.

They Might Be Giants.

Their 1990 album Flood might be the greatest album of all time. Where else could you find the lyrics "We were once so close to Heaven, Peter came out and gave us medals, declaring us the nicest of the damned"?

Don’t forget Boogie Wonderland. I love Earth, Wind, and Fire. Saw them in 1976. Better than the Beatles I saw in the 60s in DC. I am also partial to Journey and Genesis.

Just one?! Santana.

With regrets to so many others... too many to name. So grateful for music!

I remember listening to the album, “Gratitude,” on headphones when it first came out. Life changing. I think you’re onto something, and could second your choice. Have to think about it a little more. Steely Dan was not a band, per se, but the name is right up there in terms of life with music.
