I love all kinds of music and I know everyones taste of music is different but if forced to pick only one group since 1970 that was awesome, encompassed uniqueness and range and just fun music overall it would be Earth Wind & Fire. I just loved how they mixed R&B, Jazz, Soul, Pop, Latin and Disco and had lyrics to many of their songs that had meaning and message. Maurice White was a genius and his instrumental arrangements for the bands top hits was bar none. Great Car music
Thats the Way of the World
Fantasy
Reasons
Getaway
After the Love is Gone
Serpentine Fire
Shining Star
Cant hide Love
Boogie Wonderland
Gratitude....etc
The power and influence of Nickelback is unmistakable, but for sheer lyrical and harmonic genius one would have to go back to Ace of Base or Hootie and the Blowfish. Hootie’s dynamic range and singular brilliance as a bassist and accordionist, and triangle player are, in short, incomparable with any modern master composer/performer, including Kevin Federline and even Spandau Ballet.
Been playing "Trespass" a lot lately, no Phil or Steve on it, but I think it's got some of Peter's best vocal work on it.
Beatles!
+1
You listed 10 EW&F songs and no “September”?
Check minus for you.
Manhattan Transfer
BREAD
....
Bread and David Gates were awesome! Have a lot of their music on my Apple and Amazon music accounts!
Beat me to it, but for me it was a toss-up between Led Zeppelin, Scorpions or Pink Floyd. But I have to go with Pink Floyd, especially “Dark Side of the Moon.”
Frank Zappa
Nitty Gritty Dirt Band
Grateful Dead
Youre right, how could I forget?? Yikes! Thats in my top 4 all time EWF songs
If you went with a 60-year cut-off, the Beatles would be my pick with CCR the runner-up.
Pat Metheny Group
(I’m still not over Lyle Mays’ passing)
Omgosh.. There are so many Great ones..
Pink Floyd.. numero uno.
Rolling Stones the classic rock band, better than the Beatles
Dr. Hook and the Medicine Show
Queen for sure
Dylan in a class by himself
Iron Butterfly most definitely
Jimi Hendrix Experience. Still playing in 1970.
Fourplay
The Pat Metheny Group
Theres this rocker I know that said watching Pink Floyd live back in the day was like no other
Alice Copper for his influence on rock bands, shock rockers, rap, grunge, etc- he was doing that stuff before it was a thing-
