Brett Bacon was on a boat ride with his family when they saw the giant bird struggling in the water, the New York Post reported.

The forced to eagle to let go of a fish, and then held it captive when the eagle wanted to simply fly away.

If this had happened in the USA he would have been fined $10000 and spent a year in jail.

Bald eagles can swim and so if they get too wet to fly.

Videos of eagles swimming to shore with a fish too big to fly with.

When bald eagles misjudge snatching a fish out of the water and land in the drink, they are perfectly able to swim ashore. Their feathers are quite buoyant and they are strong birds. I’ve seen this happen many times up in Dutch Harbor. However, once in a moon a sea lion will grab a hapless eagle for a quick snack.

What made him think that young eagle needed rescuing?
Whoever was filming him should have thought to lend a hand instead. The Eagle, with it’s long sharp talons, was one or two short hops away from the sleeping baby.
