If it is true that one out of every five men sitting in Americas pews is saturating his mind with the evil images of pornography, how does this effect the overall level of godliness in the Church? It seems that the general urgency to live a consecrated life is at an all-time low. Self-centered living seems to have replaced true sacrificial love. A hunger for God has been exchanged for a lust for entertainment. While the Church is weathering a fierce spiritual onslaught from without, the godly character needed for this battle rots within.
I believe in the Church Triumphant. However, if we are going to return to the godly living of our forefathers, we must face the blight of pornography in an honest and forthright manner. The greatest threat to the Church today is not so much the pornography itself as much as it is the lackadaisical attitude many Christians have about its wrongness. Minimizing its wickedness might alleviate some of the shame for those using it, but it will not help to halt the epidemic. Lets recognize pornography for the evil thing it is. Perhaps then we can effectively help those contaminated by it and do more to arrest its incursion into the Christian ranks.

Nope, the Plannedemic is.
“And some people here on FR are more concerned about communion in the hand.”
Lots of people bring up different concerns, and I wouldn’t dismiss many of them.
Is communion in the hand the single most important of Satan’s attacks? Probably not, I guess, but it bothers me.
There are a lot of women cheating as well (and they receive alimony). What is a guy to do?
I agree.
In employment, isn’t it so that one becomes legally bound, to the terms of the contract?
What about a god that says ‘love me or I kill you’?
You must have missed the part of contracts that they are freely entered into by all parties involved; otherwise they are null and void.
You be asking the wrong person. Go ask a Bible Thumper.
No, ‘cause as a kid, there was always a movie where a guy called devil was always unrolling a long flowing scroll to be signed in blood.
Don’t know one to ask!
Try being a husband.
Maybe NOT use internet porn?
Women don't cheat for sex. They cheat for emotional fulfillment.
Yes, sex is part of it, but the guy who gets a woman to cheat, the womanizer, knows how to make a woman feels special and attractive. Any man that can do that can wrap a woman around his little finger.
A husband who can do that very likely won't have a a wife who looks somewhere else to get what he should be giving her.
Both parties in the marriage are adults who are responsible to hold to the vows they made to each other. Men are to be the leaders of the home and family, not to lord it over women and children but to lead and protect and provide.
And that provision is more than bringing home a paycheck.
Men are to love their wives as Christ loved the church and gave His life for it and women are to respect their husbands and submit to their godly leadership.
That's the blueprint and while many are not Christians, I understand that, it is the blueprint that works. Don't go by that and you won't have a marriage that works as it should.
I get it. If a guy cheats, it is his fault. If a woman cheats, it is his fault. Try looking in a mirror.
Try reading comprehension lessons.
Well put. More pastors need to address this issue of leadership in the home and church.
In my nearly 20 years of volunteer prison ministry, I have seen two major causes of normal, otherwise law-abiding people destroying their lives and the lives of the people who loved them. The first cause is presciption opiates and the drug addiction that follows. The second, far more common cause, is pornagraphy and the masterbation that follows from it. It is every bit as addictive as narcotics, and far worse in that it leads to escallating perversion. It always involves violating other people in its production or use.
I did read your post. If there is any fault assigned to a sex in your comments they were largely the man’s.
When men and women marry they become one flesh. The Bible doesn’t say one spirit. It is the exact opposite. There is no marriage in heaven. Women have been conditioned by movies, TV (think Hallmark), princess culture, and romance novels (think of these as pornography for women) to expect all their emotional needs to met in marriage. Sorry, that is an unrealistic expectation of their husband. Their soulmate should be Jesus Christ, not their husband.
I agree that male pornography creates unreasonable expectations of female appearance. However, look around, there are a lot of fat people (in both sexes).
In ten divorces, seven are filed by women, three by men. The justifiable causes for divorce in the Bible are quite narrow. God will be the judge.
Throw a Bible on the ground and start thumping on it. They will come.
A real-life girl, who is enthusiastic in her affection, beats any porn.
Women who are into "female porn" (alias "romance novels") may lose out on relationships because they are passing up normal guys who are in their league, in order to keep themselves available for Prince Charming.
A wife who is enthusiastically sexual for her husband, is less likely to see him stray, and might even get more emotional fulfillment.
Enthusiasm is the first ingredient in good sex. Technique falls down to a pretty low place on the totem pole. Enthusiastic lovers are eager to learn how to please. Enthusiasm beats everything.
