Microsoft seems to be getting a kick out seeing users struggle to find Windows 10 features these days. After moving the Fresh Start feature in the latest version, 2004, and reducing the number of days Windows 10 Pro, Enterprise, and Education users can manually delay updates, the company is now experimenting with moving key Control Panel features, including System information, to Settings, Windows Latest spotted. It’s a change that some long-time Windows users might not take to easily.
If you’re like me and have been using the Control Panel for decades, getting accustomed to this feature will be as arduous as unlearning a bad habit...
...Microsoft is trying to centralize this information, and moving forward, it seems likely that Control Panel will be killed off entirely.
This is just one of a few Windows 10 features that have been changed in the latest Windows Insider update, Windows 10 Build 20161.

Most of the MSC commands are carryovers from previous versions of Windows. They’re all 8.3 compatible.
devmgmt.msc = 7.3 (8.3 compatible)
compmgmt.msc = 8.3
lusermgr.msc = 8.3
Newer “consoles,” such as Server Manager, are executables and don’t follow 8.3 conventions (ServerManager.exe for instance).
In the matter of profit margins, Apple's probably got the 90% It'll be interesting to see how their A-family based laptops / desktop CPUs do.

I don’t know, the iOS for my ipad sucks. The apps are completely non-intuitive.
New folder; that’ll show you a folder ready for the new name.
Paste in {ED7BA470-8E54-465E-825C-99712043E01C} as the new name (including the brackets).
The icon should change to a control panel icon.
Then rename it to Super Control Panel or some such.
I’d test it here, but I’m on Linux right now, and when I turn 90 deg, MacOS. :^)
You can (I say with certain reservations).
You can download a copy of Linux (there are a bunch of different varieties - known as “distros”) and burn it to a disc or thumbdrive. From there you can try it out (running it in demo mode from the disc or USB) without affecting anything on your current drive.
If you find a version of Linux to your liking you can install it to your computer, replacing Windows Linux or you can install Linux side~by~side with Windows. Each option has its advantages, drawbacks, and risks. Speaking of risks, please make sure that you back up all of your data to an external drive before you try any of these options - just in case!
I can’t see that anything happened. What’s supposed to happen and what is it supposed to look like? I remember doing this on my Windows 95 machine.
