Sounds like straight out of the Sci-fi book “Wool”. The silo looks the same too.

Heh... a rock less than a mile in diameter, smashing into the Earth, would deliver more energy than all the nuke weapons combined, oh, and would end civilization. It wouldn't take that much to end civilization, as a matter of fact, and at this point, a party popper would probably finish off what's left of it now. :^)

It took three hours to get to the Survival Condo from the Kansas City airport

So what if it's an unannounced nuclear strike and you happen to live in California?

I would assume there would be a relatively tense period when the two countries would be saber rattling like during the Cuban Missile crisis of 1962.

The strategically intelligent people would be smart enough to move their families there in advance of any missile launches...............

After surviving the initial calamity how long to figure out that all your neighbors are really needy people that most would be useless in accomplishing anything themselves?

“Honey, did you hear that? I think it’s incoming nuclear ICBMs. Perhaps we should pack up and go to our Nuclear Condo that we paid $2 million for?”

“That sounds like a great....”

"And why would anyone want to be alive after Armageddon?"

Well... At least long enough so that you'd have the smug satisfaction of knowing that, since currently 35-to-40 percent of those in the U.S. are communists, there will be lots & lots of "good" communists around... /s

And why would anyone want to be alive after Armageddon?

Exactly and what good is a $2,500 monthly rent when the entire monetary system is gone?

the rich and powerful will still have it better off than the rest of us.

In the very short term, maybe. But in the long run, human nature being what it is, anarchy will soon take over in those close confines where no one is allowed outside.......And those who survive after 5 or 10 years of confinement in what is essentially a prison, there won't be anything outside that prison to go to..........No food to harvest, no gasoline to fuel their SUV's, no nothing.

In related news, TNT’s Snowpiercer has been better than expected.

This will be breachedin about a week and then poison gas dropped in to quell the resistance. The owners who promised protection? Gone as soon as the shelter is filled.

Then you have to hope the people that run the facility make it there

Yup - lots of issues with this, better to build a bunker on your own property if you can

Um, dude - when everything gets nuked there won't be medical centers.

That's the whole point of a survival center.
