“It's important to realize that if society meekly submits to an expert, and that expert is wrong, a great deal of harm may occur.”

And every single bureaucrat responds: "Absolutely right! But that's why I'm the one who should be in charge. Because I am never wrong."

The question Paul is ultimately trying to ask is this: Should solving society’s most pressing issues really be left to an unelected bureaucrat or entrusted to everyday people?

Fauchi has absolutely no power to dictate anything. That power lies with Donald J. Trump who employs Fauci as an advisor.

Rand is too much of a coward to go after the man with the power so he picks on an advisor.

The Randstander strikes again.

‘the spontaneous fluctuations of the market, which he argued “will hardly ever be fully known or measurable.”’

The same cannot sanely be said of epidemics.

The little commie, PIAPS-loving SOB, along with Scarf, belong in a cell at GITMO as domestic enemy terrorists for what they did to the economy. Especially, Fauxi. He gave those millions of taxpayer dollars to that CCP bioweapons lab over there. Locking him up is too good for him. Rope dancing would be much better.

> Well, people (socioligists) were discussing this whole matter in a book prediction that a 20-year crisis period would begin in roughly 2005, and the culmination (of 80 year cycles) would be on the order of something as severe as WWII, the Civil War, the Revolutionary War back in 2025. > > The authors hypotheses are not based on some hocus pocus nonsense. Rather, the authors were both sociologists and historians, and they were working on a book called “Generations,” when they noticed that there were distinct similarities in generations (20-yr periods) going back hundreds of years. The Baby Boomers, for instance, share many of the same traits as earlier generations in the same 80-yr cycle. And that's because each generational traits are a product of the generation that preceded it—Boomers’ women’s rights, civil rights and expansive lifestyles leaving the kids at home alone created what became the The X’er Generation (Latch Key kids). > > The book is really fascinating stuff and worth looking at, just ignore the detractors if you look into it. > > But every day when I read the news now, I’m not surprised at all surprised by the severity of what’s happening — the pandemic, wild Stock Market swings (usually signaling a major crash), the crazy stuff Trump says and does, massive unrest and rioting, global spats with China and Russia, the price of oil, The Fed printing trillions and trillions of dollars, etc. etc.

Because I think their overall theory in the book is correct, things are only going to get worse for the next five years or so until it reaches a climax point, and what follows is anybody’s guess. >

“pretense of exact knowledge” These lessons keep needing to be relearned. I am reminded of McNamara and Westmorland applying “scientific” principles to war. They of course failed Vietnam, failed America. Same fallacy.
