XOUW VT PLMUD VT XOUW ALS GRRD QLLK UGWRM, UJK XOUW VT VPPLMUD VT XOUW ALS GRRD NUK UGWRM. RMJRTW ORPVJQXUA
The way it works is a letter stands for another letter. For example: AXYDLBAAXR is LONGFELLOW (does not apply to today's cryptogram).
Beware, the game is very addictive. If this is your first time, don't be intimidated, youll be solving them all within a few days. If youre stumped, take a break and return to it.
PLEASE DO NOT post the answer in general comments, but DO post your time and how you made out.
You can certainly send your solution to my private reply, or if you need a hint for todays Cryptogram ASK THE GROUP FOR HELP!
I suggest printing these out and work them on paper. If you need a little help you can copy and paste it to Hals Helper below.
You can then work on the puzzle without using pen and paper, but I recommend that you do NOT look at the letter counter.
One last request. Feel free to post a fun or clever clue, the more tangential to the quotation the better, but please dont put the actual words of the quote in the clue.
Solution to our last puzzle. Simply scroll your cursor over the text while left clicking your mouse, and the words should appear.
YOU MUST LEARN FROM THE MISTAKES OF OTHERS. YOU CANT POSSIBLY LIVE LONG ENOUGH TO MAKE THEM ALL YOURSELF. SAM LEVENSON
A challenge today. Clue in my tagline.
Started with the first and tenth words, and quickly got the name which made it easy.
Words 7 and 8.
Yep. That did it for me.
I’m embarrassed at how long it took me to recognize the name.
welcome back
Thank you! I’m always around, I just can’t concentrate sometimes, when life is in upheaval. But I’m getting close to settling in again, so... the fog is lifting. LOL!
Quite a challenge. I arranged it as:
xxxx XOUW VT xxPLMUD VT XOUW ALS GRRD QLLK UGWRM,
UJK XOUW VT VPPLMUD VT XOUW ALS GRRD NUK UGWRM.
RMJRTW ORPVJQXUA
and realized that QLLK and NUK were probably opposites, and noticed that they ended in the same letter.
Seventh and eighth words by intuition, the rest followed.
haha
Yes #ten got me going, leading to the XOUWs and the finish. Fun puzzle today. Ironic quote by author considering his end. Happy and safe 4th to you nikos1121.
Late start today...
Well, that is one way to put it..
I believe it was Phyliss Diller who said
Everything I love is either illegal, immoral or fattening...
(Or she would have said it first had she thought of it first)
Same here first word then author then boom
Actually kind of quick. Most common letter begets author and from there the rest fell together.
