Woman, 72, gored by bison while trying to take photo at Yellowstone National Park

She sustained multiple goring wounds and was treated by rangers before being flown to Eastern Idaho Regional Medical Center for further treatment.

The news release said the woman approached the bison several times near her campsite at Bridge Bay Campground in northwest Wyoming before the bison charged.

The attack serves as a reminder that “wildlife in Yellowstone National Park are wild,” the release said.

Park visitors must stay 25 yards away from all large animals in the park including bison, elk, bighorn sheep, deer, moose and coyotes, the release said. If people encounter bears and wolves they should stay 100 yards away.

“Woman in this article was a moron”

Judging by the present state of our country we have reached the tipping point of observed morons.

There is more stupidity than hydrogen in the universe.

No where in the article does it mention if the buffalo had a mask on. Doesn’t it care about others???

I call it “Disneyfication” as well. Disney may not make “live” animal shows any more, but others have taken it up.

One thing that I have noticed is that human feelings and emotions are attributed to the animals. “The mother coyote is worried that she might not find enough food to feed her cubs,” that sort of things. Do animals worry? Do they feel proud? It’s fairly subtle until you start to pay attention. I think that this has contributed to the misconception that animals are just people in fur coats! Plenty of people these days haven’t spent much time around domestic animals, either. They aren’t aware that cows, pigs, and horses can kill you.

We were at Yellowstone several years ago, and yes there are signs all over the place warning people not to approach the animals. A park ranger there told me that bison kill more people in Yellowstone than bears do.

Last year the wife and I stayed near Livingston and visited Yellowstone.
Stoopids were getting up close and personal with Bears, Bison Deer and Elk to take selfies.
I was cajoling and hoping for animal attacks on said stoopids.

I’ll bet she was “camped” in a 40 foot class A recreational vehicle that cost $150 grand and had more than the actual comforts of home.

From her hospital be she was carping and whining for all to her husband “I told you it was dangerous and unseemly to go camping. Don’t you see....... you can get killed in the campground”

When doing volunteer work on a fence line at a ranch that was grand fathered in Teton National Park, we got concerned if the bison got within 300 yars.

Stay away from wild animals weighing between 500-1000lbs.

Shoot, I am extra careful when playing rough with my 95 pound, bundle of love Rotten Shepherd. We'd get going at it pretty good, and her teeth have brought blood several times, nothing serious.

I never got mad at her, and she seemed to know when it was time to back off. Around kids, she's great, but I'm still careful when I take her to school to pick up my grandson.

Kids have to be taught how to act properly when around a dog. She loves the attention, and kids love to pet her. I also get her in the proper state of mind by walking her a half mile before we go to the school.

She and my grandson are definitely best buddies. It's heart warming to see her snuggle up to him, and the feeling is mutual between those two.

Back to the subject, what in the heck was that woman thinking?

Bison don't like it if you bother them while they're trying to take a photo.

I had to look that up. 9 year old girl was treated and released.

I don’t think she will forget that ride
