Meathead only had his career because of his father, that’s mighty white of him.
Exactly, without his father’s connections Rob is a nothing and could not get in the front door or a Porno studio.
Yes, he and Lear were liberals, but even then I don’t think they were so far gone, as today’s liberals are.
I was just watching a scene from All In The Family the other day, where Lionel and Meathead got into an argument because all Meathead wanted to talk about with Lionel was stuff about race. Lionel asked Meathead, “Why don’t we ever talk about the weather, black people have weather too, you know.”
I thought that was the perfect response to the typical smug white liberal.
Ahh, good news to start the day.
the world will miss him not.
Damn! Why couldn’t it be Rob. Ow, did I say that out loud?
Two old Jewish men who fought and served in Europe in World War II supporting an anti-semetic organization.
Jerry Seinfeld does that Comedians in Cars Getting Coffee show on Netflix. Anyway the Carl Reiner episodes are great. When they’re at the diner talking about old days, and then when they visit Mel Brooks for their daily old guy routine of watching taped game shows
Another rabid lefty gets the big haircut. So long Alan Brady.
On the surface saying that “hey black people matter” may seem like a older liberal position. But when you know BLM’s Marxist and antisemitic rhetoric, you realize that it is a shield name like “antifascist”.
“Well HOW can you be against THAT”.
Funny guy - my mom used to watch re-runs of the Dick Van Dyke show when we were little, I always enjoyed the Alan Brady episodes.
He is one of the last of the Borscht Belt comedians, who utterly dominated American comedy until Miami Beach pretty much wiped out the Catskill Mountains resorts.

My problem with Black Lives Matter isn’t the proposition that Black Lives Matter. They most certainly do.
It’s that members of that organization are pretty open about the fact that they believe ONLY Black Lives Matter. Or at least they matter much more than those of any other race.
That philosophy frankly is just half a step from Hitler’s.
And judging from the carnage in Chicago every weekend they aren’t even sincere about THAT.
A very funny man. He will be missed.
Mel is next.
Wow. Remembered for a show that went off the air 60 years ago.
Because the world is not politics.
If all you can see about someone is who they vote for, I feel sorry for you.
My guess is that you agreed with them on 95% of everything.
Social media has made the mind of the weak go numb.
A decade ago the hipster Left came after Ralph Bakashi calling him a racist at a retrospective screening at the Alamo Drafthouse where he’d been invited to speak.
LOL. Excellent point. If Meathead were not “BORN INTO PRIVILEGE” he would be NOBODY!
The OLDER guys were Liberal but much less in your face public about it.
Norman Lear and Dick Van Dick, are pretty outspoken.
NONE will really be missed. Like Jim McLain, the Hanoi Songbird and old Democrat Senator from New Mexico, they will quickly be forgotten unless they have relatives on THE VIEW.
Thank You, Carl. Your comic genius added a ton of laughter to my TV viewing childhood. Each episode provided a study of what family life and American ambition looked like at that time.
Carl did not direct these, but “How to succeed in business w/o really trying” with Robert Morse, The Apartment, with Jack Lemon and Shirley McClain were motion pictures that displayed some of the same themes.
They don’t target their attention on racist policies old and new from Planned Parenthood designed to reduce the black population.
They don’t target their attention on black on black violence.
James Brown said that real black power was when he went from shining shoes outside of a radio station to eventually OWNING that station. Get out there and work and put money in the community. He saw no positive result in black people rioting in their neighborhoods destroying businesses and causing violence.
The militant Black Panthers called him a sell out.
