Innovations by Black farmers remain at the core of sustainable agriculture today.
Black people have largely been expelled from the US agricultural landscape. In 1920, nearly a million Black farmers worked on 41.4 million acres of land, making up a seventh of farm owners. Today, only about 49,000 of them remain, making up just 1.4 percent of the nations farm owners, and tending a scant 4.7 million acresa nearly 90 percent loss.
This didnt happen by accident. Since Emancipation, Black farmers have had to fight for a share of this countrys fertile ground, due to a history of racist policies and land theft. But modern sustainable agriculture owes much to Black agriculturalists, explained Leah Penniman, co-director of Soul Fire Farm in upstate New York and author of Farming While Black, on a recent episode of Bite.

There is plenty of previously white-owned land in Zimbabwe that is now available that they can have, since the white farmer families were murdered and raped if they didn’t flee in time. It was an almost complete genocide. Funny how that never really was covered in media.
Have they already forgotten about Pigford, or hoping we have?
The ChiComss are buying a whole lot
We could start by giving them the mansion owned by Dementia Joe and “Doctor” Jill Biden in Delaware, followed by the Kennedy Compound in Hyannisport, Bezos’ gigantor house in DC, and all the ranches owned by Hollywood types in Montana, Paul McCartney’s ranch in New Mexico. Don’t think for a minute that if this is ever used against the farm families of America that the same confiscations won’t apply to the lands of rich leftists.
No, no, no. They want it for free. It will be the next Obamaphone.
Eff them
You are quite ignorant, but I’m sure that it’s not your fault. My 3d great grandfather owned thousands of acres of land and slaves. The slaves were freed and the land was given to former slaves, many of them not his former property. The former slaves of my GGG Grandfather ended up with nothing as did my ancestors. Those who got the land were the carpetbaggers, their friends, and the other who were in political power. Those Blacks who were granted land by the Freedmen’s Bureau were later cheated out of that land and became tenant farmers with little to show for it. It sucks to be the losers. Were your family one of the winners? It’s good to be a winner, and profitable.
My dad would only be too happy to sell tractors and farm equipment around upstate SC.
Hey go eff yourself prick
Well come get some, my son!
Square head zombie account
yes,
yes they do
been saying it for years here
My grandfather was successful in farming.
He did very well with a 6th grade education.
Had to quit school to work.
Farmland is being bought up by mega-corporations.
That’s a good list to start with!
.....”What is stopping them from buying it?”.....
Takes a lot of work and know how to run a farm.
Attributes of which todays black community are all severely lacking.
Someone stop these people.
Yep the same type of do-gooders that helped to destroy Rhodesia and hoping to do it here. The wreak havoc, destroy and then act all morally superior. They did wonders in changing Rhodesia to Zimbabwe.
Should have read your post first ...lol...I agree 100%
