Well, that was disappointing.
What a concept.
Victorian women who lived into the 1920’s were horrified by the Flapper girls of that era who were dancing the Charleston & swigging gin from a hip flask while wearing short skirts and bobbed hair.

Shoot ... that’s how I grew up as a Baptist P.K. She’s not special.

Like James Bond escorting Diana Rigg. Cruise ship attire nowadays is awful and not just on Carnival.
Hope this lovely lady finds someone who shares her passion for the propriety of an earlier time.

More regular bathing became the norm. The Duke of Wellington popularized it as he bathed regularly.

She hasn’t considered the Real-world problems of harnessing the horses, hitching them to the carriage, controlling the recalcitrant beasts, streets full of horse manure and urine, no air sealing in the carriage to keep out dust and rain, muddy roads, no heater or air conditioner in the cabin, unharnessing tne horses, rubbing them down and brushing them, feeding them, mucking out the stables.
Plus the fact you aren’t going to just hop in your carriage and trot to the park, friend’s house, seashore, or city that is 50 miles away.
She’s got the romantic view of the ultra-wealthy of the time who had servants to do all those things for them.
Just a wild guess here: she probably watched the “Victoria” miniseries on Amazon, and has fallen in love with the guy who plays Lord Melbourne. He’s devastatingly gorgeous.
The producers of “Victoria” and the movie “Young Victoria” really ramped up the attractiveness of William Lamb Viscount of Melbourne by hiring Rufus Sewell and Paul Bettany.

Well, I would assume she’d insist upon all that, too; otherwise, it would be pure drudgery. Plus she’d spoil all her expensive period clothing. (Only in movies and t.v. do the dresses dragging the ground, not pick up manure and dirt).
I’ve always enjoyed Wanda Urbanska’s Simple Living program that used to run on local and college public t.v. It’s all about keeping and using what you’ve got, instead of buying cheap and discarding it after a short while.
Not to mention no cushy four-ply toilet tissue for a nice clean derrière.
