Jacqueline said she loves the fact that the Victorians had carriages instead of cars. ‘I’m not a fan of cars and I would love to go around in a carriage,’ she admitted
She hasnt considered the Real-world problems of harnessing the horses, hitching them to the carriage, controlling the recalcitrant beasts, streets full of horse manure and urine, no air sealing in the carriage to keep out dust and rain, muddy roads, no heater or air conditioner in the cabin, unharnessing tne horses, rubbing them down and brushing them, feeding them, mucking out the stables.
Plus the fact you arent going to just hop in your carriage and trot to the park, friends house, seashore, or city that is 50 miles away.

Well, I would assume she’d insist upon all that, too; otherwise, it would be pure drudgery. Plus she’d spoil all her expensive period clothing. (Only in movies and t.v. do the dresses dragging the ground, not pick up manure and dirt).
A lot of the roads were probably not too great either, which would make for a bumpy, unpleasant ride.
The Victorian age started in 1837, so if she was a young woman living in the American South and had no avenue to move away, she would have had to live through the Civil War and/or its aftermath. Not too pleasant for anybody.
