Also noted they recently started to show Chicom testing data. Supposedly over 90,000,000 tests. Still behind the U.S. in tests per million.

I just looked at the numbers for Spain, Italy, and France. Covid-19 deaths there have almost stopped, and new cases remain very low. Those countries have opened up and relaxed restrictions in recent weeks, but have not seen the dramatic spike in news cases that we’ve seen here. Why the difference?

Fewer riots and mass demonstrations in France, Italy and Spain?

If China hadn’t lied and covered up we’d have known as much about how to treat and handle this virus months ago as we know now.

Makes me so mad to think about all the lives, ours and their own, China destroyed.

“Why the difference?”

Our outbreaks are in new areas of the country. We’re a big country.
An outbreak seems to run it’s course.

Ny, etc, are seeing about the same as Europe.

Or, it could be that Covid is being subject to natural selection/mutating. Threatening to kill its host, so the host does everything it can to defeat it, is not an optimal strategy. Far better to not kill the host/cause no symptoms, such that the host takes no action against it. Then it can propogate widely.

For that to occur China would have to admit exactly what they created. That was never going to happen.

More known cases and less deaths means the virus is less harmful. Add all the unknown cases and even less than less harmful,,,

Because the simple case fatality rate equation is deaths/cases.

The more cases while death rates stay unchanged at 27 percent less than the peak six weeks ago , means a LOWER the fatality rate...

Either the media thinks everyone cant do math and or doesn’t understand this themselves as they keep hyping more “new cases“ as the next doomsday scenario.

Polio, smallpox, measles, mumps, pertussis... none of these cared about a strategy like that. The virus does what it does. We have to do what we can to beat it. It’s always been that way; we just didn’t understand it until the past hundred years.

I don’t know what the agenda is here. I just looked at Italy’s present numbers. They are losing about 35 people per day. It has fallen to that number and looks flattish now, as do all negative exponentials — which is what one would expect from a strict lockdown. 35 X 365 = about 13000/yr.

They are nearly all 65+ of course. Of Italy’s population about 23% are over 65. Italy’s pop is 60 million so there are 13.8 million oldsters there.

Some number in Italy die naturally each year. About 600,000, actually. Of that total 500K are over 65.

So the virus current rate (forgetting the spike early this year) killing 13,000 oldsters per year is an increase in elderly deaths of about 3% each year. From one virus at just 35 deaths/day.

Probably because they were smart and stopped testing.

Pretty much exactly where the models said we'd be by now (this is the May 18th model which only had data current to May 14th - 6 weeks ago - )

That's about 94% accurate from 6 weeks prior. Now if the media could stop lying about what the models and projections actually say, we could all deal with this a lot more rationally.

14-21 Days ago, Case were only about 20-25K/Day.

Deaths are a Trailing indicator and can lag by a couple/three weeks.

Due to protests + increased testing, younger people may be getting it and getting tested for it at a higher rate... or an lot of BLM/Antif folks just sentenced their parents and grandparents to death.

All the states having spikes in cases are also states with low death rates per million.

These states just haven’t had their peak yet, but they will very soon now. Florida looks to be days away, Arizona right behind, the rest just behind.

These are the state everyone was looking at 4-6 weeks ago and wondering how they were doing so well.

That’s ‘natural’ behavior alright.
Don’t think we’re seeing much of It, yet

Most of the US just hadn’t been infected. So now it’s getting infected.

Moref migrant farm/food workers in these areas to contract it too. Sad to say but those jobs are dangerous.

But they could have saved tens of thousands of their own people by calling in help.
More important to serve the Party.

"New cases"

The current talking point is "Positivity"

While there is a definition for positivity, I do not find the term in medical definition.

Any medical FReepers care to provide information for if this is a valid word, or something made up in this Kung Flu/Wuhan Flu..aka corvid19 environment?

are they testing? most of the cases we find are asymptomatic or minimally symptomatic. if we were still testing only those ill enough to be hospitalized out numbers might be similar
