It is on at least one of my Android tablets.

I never take it anywhere and only started using Bluetooth when I bought a speaker a few weeks ago.

Now I have a moderately trainable flip phone-it ain’t smart either.

Mostly I take my phone with me for the clock because I can’t wear watches. No matter the type of band my eczema flares up and it is not pretty. The last time it looked like I was cutting myself because the skin cracked open. I haven’t worn a watch in over 20 years.

I actually hate talking on any phone and avoid it as much as possible. Texting is almost as bad.

It was on my other tablet also but not surprised since it is the same brand but 8 instead of 7 inches.

I do have a smart phone but I used it as a mini tablet and also never took it anywhere. I stopped using it a few months ago so it is turned off with the battery dead.

I use it for a watch too. Texting is a real pain cause it’s a flip phone and the keys are just like a regular phone. I only use it for long distance and emergencies like to call AAA, or when I was staying at the hospital with my Dad. I don’t know if it was updated or not—it’s had some strange stuff happening most about a month ago. Currently the browser isn’t working at all.

I found it under " settings " on android (LG).
Then go to "General"
Then under "Google Services"
then under google account where it has your email address, then under "services" it lists :
"Covid-19 Exposure notifications" .

Apparently it is an involuntary mandatory download by android google
and is activated when you use bluetooth and google location.
When you use bluetooth alone it may (?) activate itself, however, the specifics remain still unknown.
Conjecture is that it is activated when using bluetooth
and is associated with those on your cellphone 'Contact' list.
There is no known provision for deleting this google app.
Yes, it is involuntary 'spyware';
it seems google has adapted well to Communist Chinese techniques of commanding compliance.

The only way to defeat this app is to go to 'settings', and go to 'air plane mode'.
Make sure that you have 'battery saver' turned on, or your phone may/will keep looking for a signal from towers.

The only other way is to encase your cell phone in 1-3 mylar bags (coffee, potato chips bags)
to shut down all cell signals, texts, information, access.
However, without 'battery saver' mode on, your phone might wear down your cell battery levels.

Thanks. Good info. I’m infected by Google without my permission.

Luckily all I have to do is download an App from my local “Government Authority” to help them track me.

I’d rather have an App showing me what liberals I’ve had contact with.

BTW - I searched the phone and SD chip connected to my PC as drives and “Covid” did not turn up at all unless I was infected last night.

Just searched the Android Galaxy S7 Active for “Covid” again.

Its there just as you described but NO ITEMS appear in a search of the whole phone.

Wonder how they do that.

It was in my settings under Google, too. It was not turned on and indicated I needed to get an app from my local/county gov unit for it to work. Not liking this.

I have not had any known software update since March 1. Earlier I paid my phone bill. I spent quite some time talking to the person who reviewed my phone as I have had lots of dropped calls, and for no reason going into roam, in the last 2 weeks. No know outages in my area. No seeable issues in my phone itself.
