On Wednesday, June 17, 2020, the President signed into law:
S. 3744, the “Uyghur Human Rights Policy Act of 2020,” which condemns gross human rights violations of specified ethnic Muslim minority groups in the Xinjiang region in China and other purposes, including specified authority to impose sanctions on certain foreign persons.

I am ambivalent on this particular issue of human rights abuse.
On one hand it is good to see this people and their “bunch” of Islamists get the same dose of occupation that the triumphant jihadists proudly melt out on conquered lands.
Yet the other hand is wrong, and two wrongs don’t make a a right.
As a parting shot, China is not taking any crap, and they did not impose the Maoist justice of just killing everybody associated with a government or village aligned against them. It is quite possible keeping these folks under wraps has prevented the ugly spector of Islamist conquests and fighters into areas like Syria....
I have been following geopoliticals since 1974 and as an old warrior would either have peace or go down in a fight. Some of the old Red Guard probably feel the same way... maybe that’s why these poor people are still alive.
