Lyme Disease
Vanity

Posted on 06/16/2020 6:02:09 PM PDT by cork

Just took a blood test for Lyme Disease. I have been having unexplained joint pain in my legs and lack of energy. Have had several tick bites in the last several months. What does anyone know about this?

So sorry to hear you have been affected by this insidious disease.

I will take a look at that book you suggested.

I am a gardener and am exposed to deer ticks. The deer come right into my backyard to eat the shrubs!

There was/is indeed Lyme vaccine for pets. I recall some 25 years ago an old co-worker angrily complaining it gave her dog epilepsy.

Have there been any ivermectin COVID-19 studies besides the one conducted by Surgisphere? That’s the company (which may now be defunct) that put out the retracted study about hydroxychloroquine. I’m wondering if ivermectin is still being considered as a potential COVID-19 treatment.

Deer ticks live in the woods. They aren’t terrifically mobile. They manage to make it to a branch or leaf where they wait for a ‘prey’ to pass under them. Either they hit their target or their life is over. Generally, they need about 3 days of attachment to a host to deliver a full dose of the disease (if they’re a carrier). Regardless, it’s important to check for ticks after each excursion and to get the head and sucker out intact, if possible. If the head comes off and remains embedded, it will continue to infect you. Drop the bugger in alcohol for future reference. Any ‘bullseye’ rash should be medically examined, without delay. If it is Lyme, the sooner you begin antibiotics the better.

Check out the books of Dr. Ritchie Shoemaker (MD out of Duke University, now retired).

He started out treating black mold, since it produces fat-soluble toxins which his treatments (repurposed, old cholesterol drugs off-label) helped remove from the body; but it turns out that the treatments Dr. Shoemaker discovered for mold, he has since used successfully to treat patients wit Lyme disease.

With the tick borne diseases now you have to worry about lyme, rocky mountain spotted fever, powassan ,babeosis, anaplasmosis, erlichiolisis, and now STARI. Some of them do not have tests for diagnosis.

I ground a “Black Fly” into his bite on my shoulder. The “target” reaction to Lyme Disease appeared a couple of days later. Doc says no, it was a Deer Tick bite (elsewhere).

He took a sharpie-pen, drew a circle around the redness, said go to ER if the redness exceeds the boundaries. Which is did—in a couple of days. Tests at that moment are the best indicators for Lyme Disease. (Which it was).

Antibiotics cured it. Guess I was lucky. Deer Ticks are especially suspect, but Pennsylvania MD Dr. J. Joseph is collecting Lyme Disease caused by other vectors (than Deer Ticks). “Black Fly” bites being one.

Lyme disease do some reading https://www.mayoclinic.org/diseases-conditions/lyme-disease/symptoms-causes/syc-20374651

Not pleasant, and if you get stuck on Antibiotics, remember to take Probiotics multi strain, at least 30 billion, 2 hrs after, or they will KILL all the good GUT FLORA with the bad. You don’t want GI issues on top of Lyme’s.

A single dose of doxycycline can prevent Lyme if taken within 72 hours.
I have no allergies or reactions to doxcy ( have twice had Lymes) and as a frequent camper, keep it on hand as a prophylaxis

There was a guy in the church I used to attend, he was the worship pastor. great singer, loved G-d, great family. About a year after I left, he became really sick. Doctors couldn’t figure out what it was. He’d get sick, then recover, then get sicker. Toward the end, they finally diagnosed him with Lyme. He passed away earlier this year.

Stole the Ivermectin form the horse supplies. My horses are indifferent. The applicator is a tad big for humans.

Hope they caught it quickly if you do have it. My father had it and it took them a while to diagnose it. Took many rounds of heavy duty antibiotics over years trying to clear it out until the antibiotics destroyed much of his lower intestines. Lymes disease is nasty and the cure can be nasty if the bug is able to take root.
