We’re all dealing with a constant state of high reactivity to the terrible things we’re seeing, and then everything we’re reading about what we’re seeing.
The overall stress load can overwhelm the body, leading to frustration, anger, sadness, anxiety, then progressively to headaches, gastrointestinal issues, high blood pressure, depression, heart problems and stroke. At the point where we don’t think we can process any more bad news and the frustration gets too high, even positive events can further overwhelm the body because they take energy to process and enjoy.
We each need to be aware of our own tolerance for developments and information and take breaks from hashing them out until the stress dissipates, we feel calmer and our energy levels and optimism return. There’s no shame in that. This is a marathon, not a sprint, and while individual posters will be missed for the time they’re gone, we all need to manage our high stress levels before we get to the point where it overwhelms us or turns into serious health problems.
Rigorous physical activity, deep contemplative prayer, sex, things that make us laugh, and breaks from following events too closely are some of the ways we can de-stress. We want everyone to be around to enjoy the biblical ending!

Well, I read both threads and I must say it’s an improved reaction. About 3 years ago, I posted an article regarding statistics on pedo stuff and got all sorts of snotty comments that it didn’t exist.
