Is Goodell purposely trying to turn away fans and completely bury the NFL? (not that I care)

If Kaepernick was good enough to play in the NFL, he would have been playing these last few years.

The only reason a team would sign him is to virtue-signal. I don't think kaepernick himself really wants to play. He doing quite well hammering checks from nike without having to take the risk of being injured or looking foolish on the field due to his diminished skills.

Perhaps a team should sign him, let him play, and unwittingly show the world how unqualified he is to play in the NFL any longer.

Either way; I hope the NFL undergoes a major financial apocalypse as they further alienate their base audience. (white men with jobs who love their country). Yes, there are some woke 'soy-boys' who have a marginal interest in the NFL, but not enough to make up for the core NFL audience that they are alienating.

At this point, I would not be surprised if the NFL forces someone to hire him, then stage some fake plays in a game in which the defense goes easy on him, just to make hime look good. The NFL is not about sports any more.

Goodell might actually be playing this smart.

I don't know when it happened -- because I haven't been a serious NFL fan for years, and probably haven't watched an NFL game from start to finish since the mid-1990s -- but at some point it seems like the NFL has less TV coverage of actual football games than it has bullsh!t between games and on non-game days. And it seems like I've heard more talk on sports radio shows in recent years about "fantasy leagues" than real games. The NFL has been so successful that they've completely saturated the TV sports market -- to the point where they literally have no more football (even fake "fantasy" football) to offer.

Now look around at all the sports leagues that aren't even playing any games at all -- and think of all the lost revenue that entails.

What better way to keep your professional sports league in the news than to push a stupid story about a loser of a former player like CK -- just to get a bunch of media attention at a time when people have gotten used to life without sports?
