Alice in Chains - "Kashmir" - "Symphony Legacy" at Benaroya Hall, Seattle, WA, Nov 2. 2007 - The NorthWest Symphony Orchestra, Benefit Show for Seattle Children's Hospital & Regional Medical Center.
Good one. I watched this video so many times over the years. It’s really excellent.
Strongly recommend the live video of "Junkhead" as well. Ta hell with the words, the melody is wicked. Here it is, start video at about 4 minutes, 10 seconds:
Alice In Chains - Would? & Junkhead - Live - Singles Premier Party 1992
R.I.P Layne Staley!
I'm in the minority, but I prefer DuVall as their frontman. I saw them in 2010 on the Black Gives Way to Blue tour and they were outstanding...it was possibly one of the top 5 shows I ever saw.
Rooster is the greatest song ever done about Vietnam, not even close.
Thats insane! But why do I have to watch some child molester beg for campaign donations before every YouTube video?
I love watching the discipline and precision of a full orchestral backing for a metal cover, pity its so darkly lit and theyre not shown much. They often seem surprised and pleased that such music was obviously written by a classically trained musician.
Myself, I prefer AIC with Staley. But AIC with Duvall is good in its own right. The common thread is Jerry Cantrell as their main creative force.
Great cover..but for me, AIC not AIC without Layne Staley.
Get a load of Zep’s last concert:

They definitely went out on the top of their game.
These guys would have been able to buy and sell Paul McCarney each a couple of times over had Robert went along with taking this show on the road for a few years...
Brings back memories of seeing ‘Song Remains the Same’ on the big screen. Plant and Page at their peak. Page’s guitar solos were off the charts.
I’m not discounting Layne’s contribution nor his vox, and the hits are his (and Jerry’s) voice. Candidly, I think AIC was the best band out of the grunge movement period from Seattle (Soundgarden is a close second IMHO). But his drug problem really held the band back. They did not tour as extensively as other bands and thus never got to that megastardom level that Toe Jam achieved. Maybe Layne knew that he held them back and that drove him further into his coward spiral.
DOWNWARD, nor coward. Curse you auto-correct.
“Rooster is the greatest song ever done about Vietnam, not even close.”
Wow! Didn’t know the song was about Vietnam. I just got a Oculus Quest Virtual Reality headset. Watching YouTube concerts in VR is incredible. Especially when they are in 360 degrees.
Yeah Celebration Day is like The Song Remains the Same without the booze and drugs.
Zepplins Hotdog is my favorite country and western song.
Here's Dread Zeppelin's version
Rasta style with an Elvis impersonator lead singer
That was very enjoyable!
Perhaps his intense wailing style was really harsh on his pipes and needed long down-times between gigs. Amazing vocals but tough on the vocal chords I’m sure.
