I have Verizon and no issues with FR. Is it possible the issue is with Firefox?

I think it’s Firefox, not Verizon.

On my I pad the free republic site says NOT SECURE right in the website bar however it doesnt block me from getting to the site, I dont have Firefox though!!

This is not and likely won’t be limited to Verizon or Firefox. The challenge is that the Internet has gone to secured SSL websites (HTTPS) and Free Republic is unsecured (HTTP). It is increasingly required that website are secured over the past several years and now browsers, not Verizon, are enforcing this.

The only time I had this happen was after FR had been down for awhile and when Jim’s team got FR up and running again, Firefox thought something was wrong with “certificate” for the website. It was a temporary thing.

It appears that FreeRepublic is both HTTP and HTTPS. Not sure if the latter is fully functional, I'm using it and getting no errors, but your browser may be set more restictively. Try accessing via this URL:
https://www.freerepublic.comThat will likely resolve your issues. If so, you'll need to refresh or update any bookmarks or history.

It is a security certificate warning do to a mismatch at the server. It being seen occasionally is of no issue on a known site. On an unknown site pay it heed. Buying a Rolex is fine buying one from a guy in the ally with his coat spread open is another. Use the same common sense here. <<<<>>>>

FR had a registration or some sort of problem not to long ago.
See the https I just posted? The "S" stands for secured. It's possible the address you are using is just "http"..........Try adding the "S" and see what happens....

However, if you go to a BLM website, they WILL steal all of your info, publish your house, go and loot it and leave all of you in the family one set of underwear so that when you walk down the street you will not have been left standing naked in the road.

This might be a Firefox problem with their latest software releases. I have Norton Security software. I had to DISABLE the software to be able to go to my credit unions website. Ridiculous.
I have to use Google Chrome to watch You Tube videos. Firefox no longer lets me play them.
To: pabianice
Yeah not Verizon (unless is some sort of local Verison issue) I just check my phone and Freerepublic popped up just fine.

It is because it is an http instead of an https. Different browsers react differently.
