But all of that was done in an effort to get him into the car.
It shows us the media was lying about the circumstances of his death and the videos we were shown were deceptively edited.
Like Trayvon the “innocent child” when he was actually a gangbanger with a gun and a gold grill.
It completely does.
A sacrifice to prevent the whole country from descending into mayhem, anarchy, riots and looting.
Worked really well.
Im not defending the cops. Far from it. Im trying to focus on the facts at hand and as they come in. The court of public opinion is an emotional beast, as your post demonstrates. A court of law operates under different rules.
Emotions? LOL. I’m dealing in facts. You’re dissembling which is defacto support of these dirty cops.
We have video proof Floyd was beaten for nearly minutes while handcuffed and unconscious. We have testimony from one of the cops that he told dirty cop #1 that there was no pulse. Despite that dirty cop #1 continued the beating. Those are facts that won’t be changing. Only those willfully blind continue to ignore the criminal culpability of these dirty cops.
That side.. loves to grasp on to myths such as hands up dont shoot and run with them no matter if its false. Repeat something enough times and it becomes gospel to some people. I suppose thats why the news networks keep saying rubber bullets were shot into the protesters near the church whereas its been said by AG Barr that is false. Whatever fits their narrative.
I'm 100% sure that if a cop could do that to George Floyd with his hand cuffed behind his back, he could do it to me too.
And I'm pretty sure it would kill me. It would certainly be a life-threatening situation.
Outrage is no argument.
What do you “really” know about this situation?
I myself know very little and if you personally were there and saw it all from beginning to end, if you’re unbiased and willing to give a factual account of the events here for us all to learn, I would love to hear it.
All we know are small little bits of information that are edited, editorialized, and timed in their release.
There is no doubt that the US has a serious law enforcement issue. However, do not let previous events and the prevailing Zeitgeist (mood of the times) define how you see and act to this situation. Do not unload all the animosities of the past on this officer that also deserves to be treated fairly.
“It is also sad when you have to keep pointing out that the knee in the neck isn’t what killed Mr. Floyd. It was his heart condition along with a mixture of meth and fentanyl that killed Floyd.
All the protests are based on a deliberate distortion of the relevant facts. Same thing with Michael Brown. Same thing with Traevon Martin. Same thing with many of these cases.”
Thats the problem
If he had just gotten into the damn car like he was instructed to! Damnit it all could have been avoided.
Still doesn’t justify dropping 200#’s on the man’s neck and leaving it there for 8 minutes...
When the fight is over, it’s over...
“are you 100% sure that the knee to the neck is what killed him?”
Are you seriously proposing that it does no harm to have three cops pressing someone into the pavement while that person is in respiratory arrest?
There is no “could”
It will absolutely happen...
Are you dumb enough to resist arrest?
Police officers all across the country deal with drugged out suspects resisting arrest hundreds, perhaps thousands of times each day. They manage to make to get them to the police station alive. Four Minneapolis cops couldn’t manage the same with George Floyd and wound up killing him instead.
We know
He was carrying drugs.
He was high on drugs and acting in a belligerent and dangerous manner.
He had COVID.
He was actively resisting arrest over a prolonged period and had to be restrained.
He was yelling he couldn’t breathe long before they restrained him.
They immediately called for an ambulance and waited for the ambulance to arrive.
The restraint did not cause his death, i.e., no pressure was being put on the neck.
This whole thing is BS.
I think that depends on how you view "free speech." When you have a system that denies the right to speech for one half the population, and amplifies the right to speech for the other, then you don't really have "free speech", do you?
We are extra constitutional right now. If the rules don't apply to them, then we should not respect them either.
You will likely be asserting your support for the existing system till they march you into the camp.
I believe in the right to keep and bear arms, but I do not extend this idea to enemy soldiers during a war.
I think one of the major differences between you and I is that I realize we are in a war, and you don't seem to grasp the significance of what is going on right now.
We are being "otherized", and you will be caught up in it too.
Agreed. That’s what officer backup, tasers, hand cuffs, and plastic leg restraints are for. Choke hold to the point of death amounts to at least manslaughter. “Resisting” by pointing a gun or pulling a knife puts things in a different realm. Unarmed and almost nine minutes on the ground was plenty of time for the other cops to intervene. And since that crew was composed of a multi-racial assortment of officers it took encouragement by the media and the party which runs that city and hired the cops involved to make it a black/white deal and cause of $billions destruction.
Uhmmmm....no, that is not entirely true.
I recently took up Jui Jitsu and lemme tell you, when a man is on you in the right position you can’t breathe. That’s what it feels like and I say “I can’t breathe. Let’s break”
I am stunned how quickly I get to “I can’t breathe” but, look forward to developing the skills to put that on some one else...
“1. The police officer apparently used a method of restraint which was authorized by his department.”
Not for nine minutes
