'OUTRAGEOUS’ Fury as photos show African-American hair products LOCKED UP on supermarket shelves but those for white customers aren’t

The images of hair care products at Walmart are said to show items targeted at African American shoppers locked up behind a glass cabinet, while those more commonly advertised as being for white people's hair are left untouched.

He wrote: "It's more than just the police."

The pictures have sparked fury as many claim it is an example of bias against black people in their day-to-day lives.

...

One user said: "Damn. All the times I've walked past this at Walmart and never even put two and two together. Holy hell this makes me sad I've never recognized all the little things."

Another added: "The products that are locked and chained up are the ones that are specifically targeted at natural black hair; implication being that the store owners expect black people to steal hair products."

Others shared images including concealer being attached with electronic tags, and a shelf of hair dye where the only one in a theft-prevention case was the one with a black model on the front of the box.

The Babylon Bee explanation:

White people were stealing all of the products for natural black hair care. The stores took action to lock these products up to ensure it would be available to black people looking to purchase said products.

Seriously, we need to stop kidding ourselves, about 90 percent of crime is done by 20 percent of the population, which happens to be black..

What is an “African-American hair product”? Do they just mean products for curly hair? My brother has very curly hair. If he lets it grow out he gets a white man’s ‘fro. Funny how he doesn’t get to play the race card.

Wasn’t this an issue about three years ago? Where I live (north of Seattle), more and more store items are put under lock every year. This now includes men’s pants, flashlights, most electronics (even cables and adaptors), liquor, some cosmetics, some Lego sets, and multi-tools.

We have two Walmarts near me, one in predominantly minority area and one in a predominantly white area.

The Walmart in the minority area has cosmetics in a separate section where you have to check out before you leave the area, or they put them in a lock box with an RFID tag which is removed at the main register. All stereo equipment is locked up and last time I was there I was shocked to see they put glass and locks up in the camping gear section (headlamps, propane, etc.)!!!

The Walmart across town has everything out in the open except spray paint.

I recall seeing black hair care products being locked up or behind counters since the 60s. The stores were always in black dominated, and poor, neighborhoods. When I asked why, I was told because the items would get stolen otherwise. .... This from a store owner who was black......in a black neighborhood.

"Walmart only locks up high theft items."

The list of "high-theft" items seems to be getting longer.

implication being that the store owners expect black people to steal hair products.

GET OVER IT!! Hair products for blacks are Stolen at a rate of 5-10 times as opposed to others, Just ask the Store Manager, I DID!!

I hope Walmart publishes the shrinkage numbers for these products before they put the locks on. Also, the automotive light bulbs at Walmart are also locked up.

I’ll give you odds that there weren’t many pairs of work boots taken by the looters.

Did they just happen to notice it ? There is something going on. All of us a sudden there seems to be an excessive amount of outrage at everything on the part of blacks.. or those claiming to be representing black interests. With only months to go before the election and at a time when Trump was making significant gains among blacks.. you have to wonder - how much of this outrage is being planned behind closed doors with Pelosi, Schummer, Tom Perez, BLM thugs and others seated around a table.
